I'm not too worried about the bent portion of the subframe, as it will be unused and cut off eventually. | This may be a dumb question but why does it have to be a kill switch from a bike? I would think any rocker that can handle a bit of power should be adequate, then attach it to a clamp

And Sheep, you could use any rocker, but there's still that pesky start button. Yes, you could find a button that would work as well, but once you've done all that and fabbed up a mount all you have is a hideous looking blob on your handlebar that probably cost more than these things are going for on eBay. My switch cost me a whole $15 and looks OEM because it is. |

1. If it ain't broke don't fix it
or
2. It's a "build" vs "buy" decision. Someone else has already solved the problem. Let them take the hit on R&D and you move on to other more difficult challenges.
****, I think I've been reading too much buisness strategy....

I will say that this thing is night and day different than the 954 in construction, size, weight, etc. It is amazing how light it feels just pushing it around and sitting on it. And the way it is constructed.....much more tightly packed and "mass centered" than the 954. Almost feels like ten years of technology difference. |

That "screw you" would probably come in handy again, eh? |

| Re: WooHoo!!! Parts are starting to trickle in. I have some fiberglass fitting to do this weekend, and soon I will have wheels, clipons, frame sliders and rearsets as well. Once I get those clipons I can fit the stop switch and HRC throttle.
I'm bagging the 1000RR master cylinder idea, as it turns out that there are those that have tried it and have found that it interferes with the bodywork, particularly with lower clipons. It appears that the GSXR radial master doesn't have the same fitting issue, though.
Some also don't think the OEM unit on the 1000RR or GSXR give any better feedback, so I'm holding off on this or a Brembo for now. I really need to see how this stock setup feels anyway. |

| Re: WooHoo!!! Well all I really got fitted was the tail and a pre-fitment of the tank cover. Without the clipons it is a bit difficult to get a good feel on the final fitment of the upper, which rules out the lower and final adjustment on the tank cover.
I did re-wire the 1000RR switch to the 600RR, though. Piece of cake and looks totally oem. I stripped out the brake light sensor wires from the switch harness, and the plug is the same as the 600RR's plug, just a different color. Just pull out the connector ends and re-insert into their proper slot. Plug it in and looks clean and original.
I did lose another 15 lbs. from the bike by removing all that Cali smog crap. The bracket that holds the charcoal canister weighed nearly as much as the canister itself, and the bolts were solid and heavy, unlike most Japanese bike bolts. A couple miles of tubing were removed as well.
It reminded me that I need to buy the PAIR blockoff plates, so I can remove another five pounds of useless junk. Plus there's the added benefit of all that power increase and less wear on the rings and pistons - or whatever that crap was.
Still waiting for a few boxes of parts and need to order a few more as well.
Man this is fun. |

| Re: WooHoo!!! I got my clip-ons yesterday so I spent some quality time with the bike today. Still waiting on a mess of other stuff, but I was able to get the HRC throttle on and position the controls and bars for the most part. I do have to mess with the right side a bit, but it's about there.
The way this thing is packed so tight for the mass centralization bit made it a pain to get to the throttle bodies and take them off so I could thread the throttle cables.
I also took a loose inventory of weight, and I have already removed a net of over 30lbs. from the bike, and I haven't even done the wheels and exhaust yet.
I cleaned up a bunch of wiring, relays, plugs, etc. that aren't needed. The front harness now looks so clean with only the bank angle sensor plug hanging out and the main connections on each end.
It was also friggin' warm today. When I went down to AutoZone to get some hose and vacuum plugs I had to turn the air conditioning on. It hasn't been 60 degrees here for months. Just a couple days ago we had highs in the 20s.
It will be the same tomorrow, so I should be able to get pretty much everything I possibly can without parts done tomorrow. |

Can't give you any other info than that at the moment. I can't really compare it to the stock throttle as the right clipon was busted up and the stock throttle was mostly missing. |
