Flush mount front LED turn signals for 954

I have done a search without much luck and am thinking I will have to come up with something on my own.
Has anyone been down this path and fitted flush mound LED turn signals that are made specifically for the 954? or do you have use something not specific to the 954?

Re: Flush mount front LED turn signals for 954

I can take pics when I am home , 2 hours. I bought them 2 years ago for like $24.00 shipped. Dark smoked to match the wind screen

LED is the running light, then an amber ( same colored as the led) flashes for turn. Looks bitchen to me

I am working, by working I mean idea in my head, on a new light project all the way across the board. hid headlamps in my 900rr, and using lexan and leds to make flush mount color matched turn signals/tail lamp. I will post more when I see how the lexan works out for me.

Cant beat those for the price, but it sucks that they dont fill up the entire hole.... i was looking at some proton led flushmounts which were $100 that were direct fit, but damn thats a good chunk of change.

Eh, nothing a piece of blk plastic or something else can fill in behind it. You have to really get down and look at it to see that its not a direct fit. But ya, for the price it couldnt be beat

Re: Flush mount front LED turn signals for 954

Found a couple of interesting sites on the topic.
Leds are at the bottom of the page here.
Newport Cycle Parts - Turn Signals -

These may work, I have not measured the signal holes, they are cheap enough, but may look bulky
motorcycle lights led courtesy lights step lights and brake and turn signal conversion kits radiantz street magic signal dynamics

Here you have to buy the flushmounts and then install the leds.
Custom LED Universal Flushmount LED Blinker Indicators

Of course you could always just go out and spend close to $100 for greggs flushmounts

Here is a cool running light and or turn signal mod that a blader sent my way
954RR Brow Light Mod

I still haven't made up my mind what I will do, but I will have time over the off season. If anyone has a cool turn signal mod please post up and bring on the pictures. Sleek looking LED's would be the mod of choice. Cheers

Take the VFR's for example, they have had them for years.

I have Greggs customs on mine. Kinda sucked, cause you have to solder the wires yourself. They didn't put conectors on them. Take a look at the
Hotbodies Racing kind. (I think they have them for the '54.)

Dont get me wrong, I like how some aftermarket signals look but I think stock signals are cool too. Most of the aftermarket signals look ugly + sell for a arm and a leg and dont fit right so holding onto stock signals isn't a bad idea

Use Lockhart Phillips Flush Mount IV (size Medium)

I had them on my 954. They cover the whole and they are super easy to install. Can't beat them for $20.00

If you notice, most manufacturer models will have the same type of signals. The stock signals are cheaper to mass produce, so they stick them on many of their bikes.

So what.......all you have to cut is the backing in the circular cutout where the turn signal mounts against to bolt on.

Really though, why would you care?

Its not like you would be replacing turn signals every couple months. And if you were to sell the bike you would only be out $20.00 for the signals. I dont' see any reason why someone would care.

Re: Flush mount front LED turn signals for 954

because when you cut out that plate on the inner fairing the stock turn signals will not mount back on and if you need to make a quick swap for inspections or anything else you cant.. i have the flushmount IV's and didnt know how much fairing mod was necessary when i bought them online, if i knew i wouldve bought something else in dual filament, like a two sided tape on version..

Yeah, I supose if you need to get your bike inspected every year and the mechanic wont pass it with flush mounts then yes, you may not want them.

I love Florida.....No inspections or Insurance is needed

Re: Flush mount front LED turn signals for 954

If you only cut the bare minimum plastic to fit the LP IV dual filaments, you can re-install the stock indicators. Just be carefull to not cut too much:trial fit, trim, fit ... Worked for me. Med size covers the holes just right.

Re: Flush mount front LED turn signals for 954

MAX,

I've been down that road myself, and all the flushmounts that I found were ugly, required cutting the fairings, overpriced, had poor visibility, or a combination of all of the above.

The solution for me was to install short-stalk LED turn signals from Shockracing(.com). They are reasonably priced ($35),fit nicely into the fairing, are really bright, and face forward for good visibility.

Highly recommended!
