LuggageLocker
So, the new bike doesn't have a metal tank so my current magnetic tank bag wouldn't work. Yikes!
I tried a buddy's strap on (hehehe, he said "strap on") tank bag, but it was too bulky and I didn't like the way it mounted to the bike. I had to run the front straps down around the triples and the bottom strap down under the seat. It made the front of the seat want to lift and the strap scratched up the tank.
I picked up a LuggageLocker because I liked the way it mounted to the gas cap mount and doesn't touch the plastics at all.
It's a bit small, but fits nicely on the tank, never touching the plastics. I was able to get enough in for a long overnight trip. Being that the bag is small, it didn't interfere with the more spirited roads. They also make an extension pack for the tank bag as well as some sweet tail bags for the rear seat.Well, I found out right away that I wouldn't be able to use my old magnetic tank back with the new Repsol. I tried borrowing a buddies strap-on tank bag but it was just too darn messing to deal with.
I've only had it for a few trips, but so far it's been working out great. A bit small for multiple day trips, but I was able to get enough stuff in there for an overnighter. They do sell and attachment that doubles the size, but I think if I need more room I'd just strap on a rear seat bag. It could use a few little inner pockets, but I think it's a much better option that the alternative.
