Re: 2007 1000RR Exhaust

Is the RT-1 dual outlet setting a race setup or street, what I really want to know is the sound difference between a the dual outlet design and the single.

akrapovic def. looks the best in my opinion unless you want a slip on then the hotbodies with the undetail.-plus akrapovic is a very high quality company.

Re: 2007 1000RR Exhaust

I just got my RT-1 dual outlet from Jardine. Did anyone have any issues with the strap that holds the muffler to the subframe. It almost seems too small and is not the same as the one that shows in the youtube video. Looks cheaper.
I'm thinking of trying a longer bolt than the one supplied.

Plus they tell you to remove the large heat shield. Any issues with heat?

Any comments/hints?

Re: 2007 1000RR Exhaust

My yoshi was a little difficult, but I just had my wife help me clamp it and put the bolt in. Just use some larger pliers, it should work ok

Get help with a second pair of hands while you tighten the fastener. I lined my under tray with "cool-it".

Re: 2007 1000RR Exhaust

I used a wood clamp. You know the kind of clamps they use to hold wood together when allowing the glue to dry. Or a C clamp should do also. That was the only way i got it on. I dont suggest the longer screw. You want that pipe on there tight.

Re: 2007 1000RR Exhaust

Thanks guys! I'll give these suggestions a try. I've spent more time wrestling with that clamp then with the dis-assembly. Once completed I'll only have to remember where everything goes!

Re: 2007 1000RR Exhaust

Anybody heard anything about the KR Tuned Exhaust? I like the looks and it seems to be made well. It's gotten pretty good reviews but has only been around for about two years or so, just looking for some input. Thanks!

Re: 2007 1000RR Exhaust

I also saw that exhaust. I think the KR stands for Kenny Roberts. From the looks of it, it seems to be a quality exhaust. I can't imagine King Kenny allowing his name on anything else.

I'm assuming the dyno is on a full exhaust. That is rather impressive.
