| Gorilla alarm I just installed a Gorilla alarm on my bike....and wow, its amazing. Im very happy with it. The tilt sensor is VERY sensetive, and goes off b4 you even get the bike off the kickstand, and u can adjust how its mounted to adjust sensetivity. The shock sensor is great too, its adjustable from level 1 to 7, and lets just say you cant even touch the bike. It also has a current draw sensor to prevent hot wiring, and it works great too. And holy sh!t its loud...accidentally set it off whike i was installing it, and that was a big mistake. I think its gonna do its job well. So to anyone looking to buy an alarm, i would highly recommend the Gorilla alarm system. I got the one with the two-way paging system which enables you to monitor the alarm sytem and it tells you which alarm is tripped if it goes off. Annnnd it vibrates/beeps when set off just incase your somewhere that you cant hear the alarm...up to half a mile i believe. So if your getting an alarm, i suggest the gorilla. Its also very simple to install. Im happy. |

| Re: Gorilla alarm No, actually it just connects diretly to the battery. It only has a positive and a negative to connect. And for the current draw sensor it recognizes a drop in the battery voltage even if somone has a key and tries to start it while armed it will go off. But yeah, no splicing or anything. can be installed in 10-15 minutes...depending on how long it tajes you to figure out routing of the wires and such. |

| Re: Gorilla alarm I'm going to be checking them out. I'm in an EXTREMELY safe area relatively, so I don't worry to much but I would like to get something.

| Re: Gorilla alarm I got model #7017 (the one with the 2 way pager) it was $169 shipped, which is about 30-40 less than most places i think....the retail is $200. Heres where i got it: WILZGARAGE: Gorilla M/C Alarm w/2-Way Paging System It arrived quickly too...ordered it monday, got it wednesday.
And Slickwill, i was in the same situation. I live in a pretty safe neighborhood, but i just wanted something for when i go for a ride and have to leave the bike out...especially over night. If you want something that will work great, protect your bike and come at a fairly low price, i think its the way to go. |

| Re: Gorilla alarm Its actually pretty good for me, just the other day i was at a restaraunt down the street and i was able to arm/disarm it from there...while it was sitting in my garage. But i think it depends on where you are also...ie. power lines and such. But i think if i were in the mall with my bike parked outside i would be able to know whats goin on. |

| Re: Gorilla alarm I had a Gorilla on an old Yamaha for a while, and I was happy with it until people started complaining. Thing was so sensitive that it would just start sounding off with nobody even close to the bike. Cars driving by would do it.

| Re: Gorilla alarm Yeah, it is reallly sensetive, but i just turned the sensitivity down and theres no problem. Plus, i kinda like being able to make it that sensetive...that way i can be sure no one messes with my bike. |

Edit: This one has anti-hijack Scorpio SR-i500SE Two-Way FM Alarm - Motorcycle Superstore
This one has upgraded waterproof remotes but you have to add on the anti-hijack separately Scorpio SR-i500SW Two-Way FM Alarm - Motorcycle Superstore $29.99 extra for the anti-hijack

| Re: Gorilla alarm I don't have one on my bike if that's any indication. I'm probably in the lowest theft area in the entire nation though? If I had the new Ducati 848 that I want the Scorpio would be the first thing on the bike.

| Re: Gorilla alarm I'm kinda looking at the Scorpio 900 series alarm. The one with the RFID module with auto-arm when you walk away a certain distance. Haven't decided yet though.
As for the Gorilla, I have one of the 2-way alarm systems that normally goes for like 170-200. Have had it for over a year almost going on two and never ever installed it so it's still brand new with box and manual and everything. If anyone wants it I'll part with it for $100 bucks plus shipping. |
