I can assure you that no inline will ever sound like a harley no matter what kind of system you go with.. The Akrapovic is an awsome system with great power gains.. If your gonna go with a full system then IMHO go with one the has the best power gains.. |

Re: 954 exhaust?? If your going to go full system , be prepared to have a power commander custom mapped for a cost of around 200-300 for a custom map. The site has some maps, but they were made at a different elevation so they are off a tad. Also you may want to think about stepping up the gearing on the bike as well with a full system due to a lack of back pressure at low rpm, it will seem to lag a bit without gearing which keeps the revs a bit higher and thus produces more consistant pick up.

Re: 954 exhaust?? Had a full Hindle system on my 929, it sounded f-ing awesome. Pretty low, bass at lower to mid throttle, then more like an F-1 car over 7000 revs. Used to get a lot of compliments from other riders of newer bikes when I was flogging my '29 around San Diego hills. Performance gains were great too. Not a big fan of Akro. Put it this way-the RC I just bought has Akro. It'll be on ebay as soon as my Sato system comes in.

Re: 954 exhaust?? I had an Akro carbon-fiber slip on for my 954. Really liked it. Not too loud, deep sound.

Re: 954 exhaust?? Every once in a while you will see Arata full exhaust for a 954 show up on ebay for cheap... That or the Sato are really the best pipes for the 954.

Re: 954 exhaust?? By stepping up the gearing, do you mean going down one on the front sprocket or such?

Re: 954 exhaust?? If the Sato performs on the 929/954 as well as it does on the RC, don't even hesitate.
