zero gravity

Today i purchased a zero gravity double bubble windshield, this is the second windshield i bought, the first being a hotbodies, which did not fit well, so i sent it back, now this one also does not fit well, is this a problem with aftermarket windshields? also i am not use to how much higher it is thne stock, and i find it really ugly, i posted a pic to show u how its not fitting properly, let me know what u think

Re: zero gravity

I have the PUIG on my 954 and on my wifes F4i.

There is no gap between the plastics and the shield.

Re: zero gravity

The only aftermarket screens I will purchase would be a Puig or Fabbri. I had a Zero Garvity on my 954 and not only did it not fit but it melted my gauge cluster. I bought a Fabbri for it after that and the fit was fantastic, I also never had the melting problem after that. On both or my 600RR's I had a Puig and they both fit perfect as well.

Re: zero gravity

I have a Memphis Shades on my and the fit up is excellent as well. I had a poor fitting Zero Gravity on my VFR and probably won't buy another one.

Re: zero gravity

There are several threads on the subject of melted gauges and double bubble windscreens to be found in both the model specific and general discussion sections.

Re: zero gravity

I have used Zero Gravity Double Bubbles on all my sportbikes. Never had a problem with fit/finish or gauges melting.

As bettingpython says, there are a bunch of thread on this. Some people have the issue and others do not. I was one that did. Luckily a few months later my tach on the bike went on the fritz and I had the cluster replaced under warranty. It was then that I put the Fabbri on there.

The biggest cause of the issue seems to be the seperation where the screen goes into the "bubble" part. It focuses the light and presto, melted gauge.

Re: zero gravity

Hi, not a fan of Zero Gravity stuff. I had one on my VFR like someone else mentioned earlier and its not great, not good looking, bad fit, but does the job but its huge. I had an airblade one before that but a small stone went straight through that so I bought a MRA one. By far the best of the ones I have seen / had. There is one coming out for the Fireblade in May so I am hanging on for that.

Hope that helps.

Re: zero gravity

Hi me again, I thought I may have been a bit too critical of the Zero Gravity so I went and had a look at the one on my VFR and its not a brilliant fit but maybe not as bad as I made it out to be. Still not keen enough on it to buy another one for the blade though so hanging in for MRA to release theirs.

Re: zero gravity

I have a smoked Zero Gravity on my 1kRR, good fit and looks nice though not a double bubble. I'm not a fan of the double bubble, I'm 6'2 and have no problems getting low enough on my bike when I need to.

Re: zero gravity

i installed smoke double bubble for my xx. but when i a kid dropped my bike while parked, he also shattered my screen. Now zero gravity says they dont have smoke on stock, and it would take them 3 week to make one. they only got red and yellow ???? aucchh...

Re: zero gravity

I just bought the Powerbronze unit and it is very good. MRA still dont have theirs out yet. I would recommend this one and the service was excellent.

Re: zero gravity

I have had zero gravity double bubbles on the last 8 fireblades I have owned from the 1995 model to the 2007 one and I am also the South African sole importer and distributor for zero gravity and have sold many screens for many different models over the years ( mostly double bubbles) and have never ever had a bad fitting one and only one that has resulted in melted instruments (954 blade) and on further investigation I found that this problem is only relevant to 954 blades and occurs with other makes of double bubble as well. In an unconfirmed statement from a honda dealer I was told that they had it on good authority that the 954 blade instrument cluster was made of inferior plastic but I can not confirm the truth of this statement or even remember the specific person who made it as it was a few years ago and may or may not be accurate. I would suggest though that if you have a problem with a zero gravity screen that you contact them direct as I am sure they would like the opportunity to rectify your problems.
