| Re: Best mod ever! Accelerator pump its free! Need powercommander Still confused!
I just get a power commander pic with 'accelerator pump enable' or 'accelerator pump disable' function. I don't get a power commander drop down tab?
What I did. - Download the stuff, open it, connect usb lead to laptop and smaller end of lead to powercommanders little hole (not usb) (this lead came in the box), turn on ignition. Then just get as above with 'power commander connected' on screen, no maps or full background page to click on. Just a 1/4 page or so with the above picture. |

| Re: Best mod ever! Accelerator pump its free! Need powercommander Google "powercommander" or ask your local motorbike shop. You will need an installer that knows what he's doing also to install. Mightn't be a legal mod in your country. |

| Re: Best mod ever! Accelerator pump its free! Need powercommander Well to clarify things for people...An accelerator pump is used on carburetors to compensate for a loss of vaccum with the sudden opening of the throttle. For those who aren't familiar with the principle of a carb- As an engine is spinning, it creates a suction as the air passes through the throttle body. This suction also sucks in fuel through calibrated orfices in the same throttle body(ies). When you open the butterfly(the throttle) suddenly, the suction drops to a minumum for a split second, and this causes carburated engines to stumble due to the lack suction sucking enough fuel for the proper air/fuel ratio. Here comes the accelerator pump's job. For every throttle movement opening(meaning movement from idle to WOT) a mechanical linkage manually squirts fuel down the carb from a different orfice.
Now to fuel injection: for whatever throttle position and RPM your engine is, the computer delivers the proper amount of fuel not by engine suction, but by pressure. So if you suddenly crack the throttle open, the computer will deliver the correct air/fuel mixture for your new throttle position and RPM.
Tranlation: electronic fuel injection doesn't need accelerator pumps!
You can feel the difference though and seems like it gives more power. But I have experimented on 4 different bikes with it, and tried many different settings. In the end it made the on/off throttle response twitchy, which is not what you want for road racing(or aggressive street riding) and only 1 of those bike owners peferred to keep it activated. But his riding was not the typical kind(stunter).
The only benefit I can see is if you have a very slow ECU from an older bike, then this might be good, but no real value for everybody else. |

Need powercommander i downloaded it to my friends 2007 r6s and it didnt do anything like i expected, maybe yall could help us out...it idles fine but when the throttle is opened it stumbles for a second then clears up..its got the pc3 with the slip on map and we just put the factory air filter back in because he had a race bmc which was too much for the bike and that helped but getting his a$$ whipped by an identical bike with different exhaust?? only thing i could tell him is take it to the dyno to get tuned, any advice is appreciated |

Dyno tuning is always the best idea. It doesn't just help peak HP, but throttle response, drivability, and mid-range power also. But like I said before, very few people will see a true benefit from the PCIII accel pump feature. And if the bike is stumbling, then definately get rid of it. The feature is activated through a seperate program, and adjusted with the Dynojet software. To de activate it you need the seperate program. Just download it from the Dynojet website.
Now with your buddy getting whipped by an identical bike...that could be many things. He could be 20 pounds heavier with a full tank of regular gas and he short shifts. The other guy can weigh less, with less fuel(premium unleaded) and does clutchless shifts, and launches his bike properly. Too many variables there. And your buddy could just have a completly wrong map too.
Turn off the accel pump, and use put a zero map in, and test that. If it works, then find a good map and you're set. |

| Re: Best mod ever! Accelerator pump its free! Need powercommander The accelerator pump simulator is a piece of power commander software that "simulates" a carburator accelerator pump that thelastosirus explained thoroughly. To use it, the enabler program must be downloaded from our website the opened while connected to a powered up pc3usb. Click "Enable," then exit the program. Then, in your regular Power Commander Control Center Software, under the "Power Commander Tools" toolbar menu, you will find an Accel Pump Config option. Sensitivity will determine how much throttle change it will take to kick in the extra fuel, percent increase determines how much extra fuel, and engine revs indicates for how long you will add this extra fuel. The base settings are what some riders have reported back to us as being good, but whether or not its good for you depends on your bike, weight, riding style, etc. There are no magic numbers to put in. It's something that should be tinckered with to find out what suits you. |
