| 1000 RR Air filter Did un upgrate from 954 to 2005 1000 RR, very happy with it but I have to put few bits on it
So I`m after getting Yoshimura RS-5 Carbon, it looks cool and I really like the sound of it,
Got PCIII usb as well and now wondering what air filter to get, on my cbr 600 and my cbr 954 I had K&N, but there are some other air filters:
So please opinions, which one should I go for: |

was talking to this guy who`s gonna do the custom map on PCIII... he was just saing the same thing..."save yourself money man, stock works best on dyno"...

Im very much the same story, on my cbr600 f4i (F Sport) and later on on my 954 I had PC and K&N, but got 1000 RR 2005 back in may...And was asking around what filter to get for it and most people said to leave the stock filter...
I`ve yoshy carbon now with PCIIIusb and stock filter and Im really happy with it, I love it, U`re better off spending that money on something else, on brakes maybe like me..Get yourself goodridge brake lines and pazzo levers... |

| Re: 1000 RR Air filter There was an engineer who also owned an RC51 I came across awhile back on another forum who did a flow check on the RC's filters. He compared the engine's requirements with the filters capability. If I can remember right, the RC uses around 1100 CFM at WOT/max RPM, and the stock filters flowed 1300 CFM with the restrictor installed. Without the restrictor, they flowed around 1700 CFM. And this was with a drop of only 1 in/mg of vacuum. On ram-air air boxes, this is neglible.
Of course the high-end filters will flow more, but your motor probably doesn't use that much air. It seems the only real benefit from aftermarket filters is on oil-impregnated ones, they trap dust particles much better. And they do flow more when very dirty...If you let yours go that long. |

But the increased capacity is the reason for the extra power, not the filters. That was the last on my list of to-do, but unfortunately I never got around to it before I sold my bike. |

| Re: 1000 RR Air filter Gday we ran side by side tuning run on my cbr1000 it only made a small difference changing the filters but being able to clean the filter for as long as you own it is an advantage. by the way there bmc filters K&N actually dropt bottom end a bit. |

| Re: 1000 RR Air filter I have an 08 cbr 1000rr and I just got it out of the shop yesterday. They put in my PUD clutch recall and I bought a K&N airfilter while I was there. Big difference the K&N seemed to add 1000 rpms to the power curve on the lower end. You can really tell in sixth gear at normal speed. Best $70 I have ever spent. |

| Re: 1000 RR Air filter I think stock is fine. As it is right now, I still suffer a light head ache from my eyeballs beaing forced back into my skull sockets, and setting my hair on fire from the last time I twisted the throttle. I had to change my Deppends earlier than usual too.

| Re: 1000 RR Air filter You're right very fast bike, however, the filter is definately a big difference. I would not have believed how much until I put one on. First gear wheelie at 4500 without the clutch and before it was 5500. When you get comfortable this is a good first step for the money. |

| Re: 1000 RR Air filter Got the bmc filters I notice a big difference in throttle responce so far, and the bike revs quicker. Soon as I can replace the tank bolt on the left side im going to take it for a test ride and see how it improved over my dirty stock filter. I seen what a custom AEM/ spectre cold air intake did for my car
Id like to see what this will do for my 07 blade. Next upgrade is a Ducati 1098 single sided swing arm along with Marchesini rims. Imma post pics of my blade when im dun upgradin. Shiza is gunna look awesome. |
