| Cruise Control My uncle wants me to take a trip with him to SC for bike week. Long 500+ miles ride from where we are. He's made the trip many times but it'll be my longest. I asked how he handles the trip without his hand falling off, and he's a got a cruise control. Granted he rides a softail, but is there such a demon, or would it work, for a street bike? Seriously considering. |

| Re: Cruise Control Cruise control works good on sportbikes if you get the right one. I'll prolly get flamed for this, but, with crusie control on the interstate, and a nice straight road, it's nice just to sit back and cross ur arms for a couple minutes at a time. |

| Re: Cruise Control Down 95 S around S. Carolina would be perfect for CC. Roads aren't too bad and traffic is nothing compared to up north. 70 mph limit too; would be a good ride with that warm weather yall have down there already.

| Re: Cruise Control I've seen 2 clip-on devices that would work. One is a "paddle" type piece of plastic that clips to the outside portion of your throttle. It basically lets you relax your grip and use your weight to hold the throttle open.
The other is a bit more complicated. It attaches somehow between your twist grip and your starter switch-housing. You get the throttle where you want it, and flick a lever and it holds tight. The package claims once engaged, you can still close the throttle with just a little bit of force.
Check with Dennis Kirk and Chapparrel Motorsports.... |

| Re: Cruise Control I used the NEP cruise control for a 1600+ mile trip from michigan to the gap last fall on my RC51 - worked great. It's nice to just take your hand off for a minute and strech... GOOD MOD |

| Re: Cruise Control The poor mans cruise control is an O-Ring. If you put the right sized O-Ring in the little gap between the grip and the end of the handle it'll hold the throttle in position once you twist it. You have to use a little more force to back off or roll it out onto the end of the handle when not wanted anymore. I've tried it and it works but you have to find just the right sized one or else you'll run into trouble when trying to disengage it. |
