| Aftermarket Seats for 08/09 Fireblade Just wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction with regards to afermarket seats as I did my first long run on my blade (300 miles) and it took about a week to get the feeling back in my backside
I have been looking at the Corbins. Are they worth the money or would a Gel seat be a better option?
Any advice would be a great help as I want to do a couple of long trips soon but not sure that i'm looking foward to them.
Cheers

| Re: Aftermarket Seats for 08/09 Fireblade Throwing in my 2 cents. I have an 09 fireblade ABS with a few thousand miles on it and find the Hond e cushion seat remarkably comfortable and would recommend it. I have a custom Corbin on my ST1300 and it is also very comfortable but pretty pricey. |

| Re: Aftermarket Seats for 08/09 Fireblade Cheers for the input guys
Not sure about the E cushion one as my dealer says it is only good for up to 250 mile trips and also had a corbin on his fireblade and said it was the best thing since sliced bread. I suppose he is going to say anyway to try and part me with more of my money
Just wondering if any one has done a 300+ mile trip on a E cushion seat and how they found it?
Cheers

| Re: Aftermarket Seats for 08/09 Fireblade Without a doubt there is an association of comfort, mileage, and how fAt or bony one is, not to mention a plethora of personal strengths and limitations. At 6'3" 190 lbs I can easily be in the saddle for 4+ hours at a time. My knees are more likely to need some R&R than my butt. Buy a seat that is going to serve you well most of the time. Unless you're accustomed to being in the saddle for extended periods, after 250 miles you're going to get squirmy. I don't know about you, but @ my pace the tank is only good for 160-170 miles.
Stay alert, Live well. |

| Re: Aftermarket Seats for 08/09 Fireblade I had the same problem on my 08, after a few hours my arse was starting to get into the pain factor, looked at the e seat from Honda but price put me off,
So I went on E bay and got a gel pad for a horses saddle which was only 3mm thick, then de stapled the seat cover, cut and over covered the original foam pad with the gel and yes its works great all in for £13.50, and you get a slight dimpled look. |

Price is £150 | IMO Honda have a cheek charging £150 for a comfy seat, GSXR's dont need to do this.
im into racing so i do too much sitting down as it is, but if I were you id undo those stapples under the stock seat and fit another layer of foam or gel pad, perhaps buy some better fake leather too, stocks too slippy for me.
Their is a guy on eBay does custom covers for our bike too. |
