Aprillia is to release the SXV 450 / 550 VDB replicas
Both the VDB and the stock 2008 SXV get revised engines, including two selectable engine maps, but on top of that the VDB – available in both 450cc and 550cc versions.

The chassis is all new, with a much lighter rear section, where the die-case alloy has been drilled to reduce weight. New 50mm forks offer three offset settings with billet aluminium yokes.

Front brake is now a Brembo Monobloc radial caliper, with a 320mm wave disc.
The gearbox gets a slipper clutch, closer ratios and a quickshift to cut the ignition on changes.

Bling - the race-only VDB gets billet aluminium hubs, a carbon fibre fuel tank, a stepped seat and Alpina wheels – 16.5-inch front and 17-inch at the rear. Arrow exhaust is standard, and the bodywork fasteners are all titanium.

I love those...but every 550 that I've heard of is in the shop because the engines are failing. Something about oil in the water and water in the oil.

Your spot on about the 550 engines, even the dealers will take you to a quiet part of the shop and tell you to buy the 450 due to the problems with the 550.
