Re: 2008 Ducati 1098 R - Photos - Specifications

I am hoping Ducati sticks to their usual progression method... ie - filtering this years R engine down to next years S...

I'm looking at a 1098S (in black) for the end of the year - but seeing as a deposit NOW gets me one in October... I figure I may as well just wait to see what the update brings... I'm hoping that 1200cc engine is one of them

I am not impressed at all considering the price that needs to get dished out for it.

I checked one out and I got the feeling that there are parts or something missing. It's naked.

If only the Ducati engineers could figure out how to make the engine start in mildly cold weather.

Took the dealer 3 tries on a 1098 I was looking at. And this was his personal bike.

the announcers mentioned that it was a last minute decision on honda's part to race the 08 1000rr's. they were going to go with the 07's because they had no testing done on the 08's. so considering that and the quality of the racers for honda ( ok checa's awesome, and sudoku has the potential) they did pretty good for the first time on teh bike.

i think this is the last year for my blade, and i'm jumping ship to ride red for another manufacturer. yup, next year is the 1098 ( in red of course)

i just don't know what to do with the 929. it'll probably be at 100 000km's by then. or 1 according to the odometer lol. no one would want to buy a bike with that many km's.

It already looks outdated with the undertail exhaust.

The tube frame looks old school as well. Maybe I'm just so used to seeing aluminum frames.

The front looks killer though. It's just the back half looks bad to me (except for the left side sprocket/disc setup).
