| 2009 Honda CBR1000 - Photos and Specifications The release of Honda's 2008 CBR1000RR represented the pinnacle of litre bike performance and as far as Honda were concerned the tag 'superbike' did not do the machine justice. They had designed it to be the most compact, lightest and best performing motorcycle in the 1000cc class and Honda have further improved it for 2009.
Not only have Honda released new colour schemes they have also given new owners the option of having Combined ABS on the machine. The ground-breaking Combined ABS will prevent the bikes wheels locking up in situations calling for emergency braking, giving an remarkable confidence boost to the rider. It has taken many years for Honda to develop a system with the refinement, performance and the necessary low weight essential for a bike in this category.

I have heard good thing's about the new Maxxis supermaxx sport tyres, so may give them a try, failing that the Michy road 2's as I will be doing more road than track this year.( Credit crunch! ) |

| Re: 2009 Honda CBR1000 - Photos and Specifications I had a major issue with the looks of the 08 1K. But its kinda like dating the smartest girl in school... She may be as beautiful as the prom queen, but once you've been with her a while, you find out that does things that very few other girls (still talking about bikes here, guys...) can do! Suddenly, she's not so unattractive any more. I now have an 08 1K... (I did change her looks a bit, though). |

| Re: 2009 Honda CBR1000 - Photos and Specifications I went with the Repsol....had my 09 for a few months now....traded my 05 Repsol in.
Just had its 1000km service.
Bits added: Carbon fibre heat shield to the exhaust / carbon fibre heel guards and am waiting on the "REPSOL" rear hugger!! |

| Re: 2009 Honda CBR1000 - Photos and Specifications The best thing is the fact that it does not look exactly like everything else. That broken nose, and short exhaust is exactly what drew me to it. I used to own nothen but Suzuki.(Had five Suzuki's). The day I went out to buy a bike, I realized if I bought any one of the big four Japaneze bikes, I would buy a good bike equal to any of the others. It was looks that would make the decision this time. I walk into a Honda dealership that one day, and now I own a Honda. Just got the tail seat plastic cover for it and added the tank pad. Someone said they biuld car's too.

| Re: 2009 Honda CBR1000 - Photos and Specifications I think they are the best looking bike of the bunch as well.
I think it might also help a few people when it comes to buying a new 1000cc sportsbike is that in the U.K Fireblades are retailing for £9700 ish whereas the New R1 has just gone up in price from £10000 to £11500 I'm fairly sure the GSXR is over 10k as well now.
There are also some of the 08 blades at dealers going for 8.5k as well which is a great deal.
Mind you even if they were all the same price i would still buy a Fireblade.
Cheers
Steve If Carsberg made motorbikes then they would probally be still not as good as a Blade |

TA ELLIE | From what I understand there is very little diference between the 08 and 09 model apart from paint and the ABS option and different rear indicators.
I would suspect that the bike might change for next years model though.
Cheers

| Re: 2009 Honda CBR1000 - Photos and Specifications Yup, I recon the 2010 Blade is going to be something very special indeed. Especially after the impact the new R1 has had.

TA ELLIE | As far as I Know the only difference between the 08 and 09 is colours and the option to have abs braking, I too have an 08 and you will love it congratulations on choosing the best bike.
Oh and welcome to the Org.
Edit: sorry just realised this has already been said sorry Kiwi, I only have net access on my phone at the moment so missed the next page.
