Valve Clearance Inspection CBR1000RR - DIY Article

After doing Valve Clearance Inspection on my Honda CBF1000A 2007, I have written this DIY article with lots of pictures and text.

As the CBF1000A has a retuned 2005 Fireblade engine this article might be interesting for members on this forum.

I also have a CBR1000RR, 2008 and the Honda Shop Manual for it, and there seems to be allmost no difference between the procedures. Only difference I have found is the nominal exhaust clearance is 0.30 mm on the Fireblade and 0.32 mm on the CBF1000A.

Cheers ... Fred

Thanks very much. Even my "short bus self", can understand that article, and the pics are great.

Re: Valve Clearance Inspection CBR1000RR - DIY Article

Hi Sidmarklong, Matty_998cc and Cbr1kfireblade,

I'm pleased you like the article. My 2008 CBR1000RR now has more than 9.000 kms on the clock and I have had it excactly one year now, so it will probably be in 2111 I will do valve clearance inspection on the real blade and write up a new article.
In the meantime, please report any differences you might encounter between your bikes and what is written or pictured in the present article.
I think this kind of DIY articles can help us all to a better understanding of the technical stuf and possibly save us a buck or two.

Cheers .... Fred
