| Syd: Ride Sat 27 March 04 Hey there all
Going for a ride down south. Leaving loftus Oval at 9am, then going through the park, macquarie pass, kangaroo valley, kiama curves, back to robertson, down the pass and back through the park etc. All the long twisty ways basically.
Unless of course ... it's raining. Been bloody good weather all week and no doubt tomorrow will ****en rain just to piss me off and put a great start to my weekend! |

| Re: Syd: Ride Sat 27 March 04 You should just keep riding south, all the way down to the island for the world supers,
just be careful about going 1 klm over the speed limit in vic |

Ratter - that is the biggest reason to turn back north at the border!

| Re: Syd: Ride Sat 27 March 04 How'd you go? One thing you need to include in your journey. A trip to the George IV tavern. NO bike trip is somplete without it. Heaps of bikes etc, great beer (they make it there) and more roads to ride on on way back. I'll show you one day as soon as I get my bike back on the road. |

Down through the National Park, up the highway then cut off to Picton, turn left down through Mt Keira. Came out the bottom of there then threaded our way through Dapto and turned right on to Old Macquarie road I think it is. Anyhoo, that cuts through the back on a nice little bumpy road and spits you out on the open section just before going up Macquarie Pass. So yeh, up the pass, then turned left at the top and down Pearsons lane (lovely high speed stretch that). Down through Kanga valley for lunch. Umm, up the coast road through Gerringong etc then through the Kiama curves, then turned left just after those and threaded our way back to Jamberoo. Turn left and go back up to Robertson, then the reverse from the way down back to Sydney again.
It was good with just the two of us. Took heaps less time than it usually does 'cause you're not waiting around forever for people to get their **** together or stop for half an hour every time you get off the bike. I like stopping, but not for yonks every time! Only got very very minorly spat on once I think, so it was dry too! |

| Re: Syd: Ride Sat 27 March 04 Yup, lots of fun. My first real good ride on the 954 - and my first ride (other than abou 20km worth of commuting) since I got back. It's obvious I need to brush up - but I kept it within my limits and made sure we both had fun Really love the run up to RObertson and down Kang valley - the roads are actually quite nice
King George IV huh? Can't say I've heard of it - but it sound slike it's worth checking out..

| Re: Syd: Ride Sat 27 March 04 Dude, trust me. DON'T go there. Evil place. Hahahahaha I've been going there since I was 16. The beer they make is the BEST. Great lunch in the beer garden, and like I said, plenty of bikes. If I see any 954's pull up, I'll wander over and ask, as I'm down there alot. hahaha Have to get a ride there one day and I can show you some better roads out there. Maquarie Pass is the BEST, as is the ride from the Pie shop, (road opposite it) down into Jamberoo. Turn left at the intersectiona and up swamp road, to the start of Kiama (you miss the bends thoug). Awesome. |

| Re: Syd: Ride Sat 27 March 04 Oh, by the way, my family owns a restraunt in Fairfield, so if you guys are interested, we could organise a dinner there one night. It seats 1000 people, so the more the better. We can also get a band happening there (playing MMM style stuff), with a 3 course meal and free soft drink, for about $40/head if we get enough. Either an occasion, or Fireblade.org thing or whatever. Let me know. |
