Dyno for Break-in in Melbourne

Hi Guys,

After finding the website posted here I wondering whether if its too late (480km clock up) to look for a Dyno in Melbourne that can do it for me, and the cost of it.

So two questions:

1. Have I left my run too late?
2. What Melbourne shop would have all the equipment and experience to handle this (closer to the CBD the better)?

Edit: A third Question:

3. Is this breakin method a good idea? (can of worms I know but I'll take it all in and make a decision)

Not sure if you are wasting your money or not, but I know lots of car racers choose to break their motor in on a dyno, so they can go out and race them. the dyno can place loads on the motor unlike any street useage could do.
You could try it, but you may not experience any great results

I used Phil tantion racing for my dyno'ing, I'm sure he probably breaks in all his GSXR race motors on his dyno. he is in Wantirna

Thanks Ratter, it all depends on how much cash is involved, since the webpage is talking about the first 20 miles are the key time its probably a bit late to worry about it too much now. So if its within reach of the budget I'll go for it.

And I prefer to run it hard on a Dyno than on the street. Don't want to be the Melb equivalent of the Sydney Tunnel runner.

Plus it would be interesting to get some figures now then after a few thousand km when the engine is supposedly ment to loosen up.

the engines do loosen up after a few thousand klms, you can feel the midrange is stronger

Yeah thats right, even though I ran my bike in with a very! firm hand for the first 1000km I did notice that it continued to get stronger and stronger up untill about 4000km, and as ratter said most noticeable in the mid range!
