| Re: Is the AMCN out? I'm down In Melbourne this week for work...and AMCN was on the stands at lunchtime yesterday. The magazine is based in Sydney now, so I just don't get how us Sydneysiders get it later then the Melbournites ? ( Maybe they need that extra day to help them understand everything !! )
Pretty interesting read....though the ratings actually seemed similar to the Two Wheel comparo |

| Re: Is the AMCN out? I have not finished it but it looks like they give the nod to the R1 with the 10 second but the road section was just about too close to call.
From the performance stats it looks like they had problems launching the the CBR, the hydraulic clutch may be an issue there?
Looking forward to reading it in depth tonight

Boris's column is good, he does have a way with words and is not very fond of our cage dwelling relations! | The ZX10R took out the road section, not sure about the track. Basically it's the most fun of the lot to ride. Wack on a steering damper and you're sorted. |

(In reference to the track testing)
"Next up was the ZX-10R -- and holy ****, that bike's one exciting ride!
The bumps at the crest of Turn Four aren't an issue because the lairy bugger lofts its front wheel on power (in third) right over them."
Heeeehahahahah. |

| Re: Is the AMCN out? I was actually really surprised that there seemed to be a "winner". Over the last little while the woose has been reluctant to declare a winner due to the closeness of the competition. I still think its a case of pick the one you think is the prettiest, tick the colour you want, enjoy. No one on this borad is good enough to ride one of the new thous any where near its limits. |

No one on this borad is good enough to ride one of the new thous any where near its limits. | I wouldn't say that no one on this board is good enough to ride it to it's limits. There are some pretty decent riders in here who do regular track days and some racers as well. I do agree in general though, most people don't come close to the limits of the bike, and the only place that it's possible is really at the track. However, if you've got zero chicken strips on the road, then you're atleast using all your tyres, so that's a good thing!! Zero chicken strips always has cred. |

| Re: Is the AMCN out? R1's & ZX10's aside I think it was an interesting read and real world oriented. There's definatley the opinion that the Blade is a tad too tall geared & thats indicative of the results they posted. No one can refute that the machines have never been closer in terms of road/track scrubbing performance
After riding them all I feel more confident on the Blade out in suburbia and in turn get more out of my ride. Each to there own
Does anyone know how accurate the parts price list is they include? A spare tank cover for track days makes sense to me.

We're talking real world road riding here. I remember a great quote by the late Dave Jefferies (RIP) who said about the 02 GSXR1000. "if anyone even thinks about doing any mods more than a pipe, they need taking around to the back of the shed and beaten with a big stick" That coming from a multiple winner of the Isle of Man TT. I really doubt anyone on here could ride the wheels off a new thou on the road, and im doubtful on the track either. Not unless Josh Brookes is on here somewhere |

I can tolerate its looks (The green one, not the orange), Its more so that it sounds like a blast to ride that attracts me to it!

| Re: Is the AMCN out? I went for a walk to Peter Stevens in Elizabeth st at lunchtime and they had a used 1000rr blade in red with 2500 kms on it for $15990. Thats like $3K less than new I got all excited until I saw the "sold" sticker on it. Phark me, that's cheap. Now if only a zx10 came up at that price |
