Willowbank Track Day

Yo

Im going out to Qld raceway this weekend for the yamaha tribe day. Not going to ride an r1 though, just going to enjoy meself on the blade.

Havent had it on the track yet should be a hoot.

The only thing on my mind is i have a half used tyre on the front and a newy on the back, worried it might do some funny stuff at full lean in.

Cant wait......

Re: Willowbank Track Day

no need to worry bout the tyre if its half worn. if its still fresh on the sides and worn on the centre it'll just turn in a little slower for a few sessions until it wears even.

road tyre compounds last longer than race ones before going off.just make sure u warm the tyres for a 1.5 laps before pushing it and add a heap of front preload.
btw, tell us how it goes cause i really want to try Qld raceway.

cheers josh

Re: Willowbank Track Day

enjoy the ride mate!

If any of you guys from NSW/QLD are coming down for the GP at Phillip Island, take an extra couple of days off work cause we'll be organizing another ride to "Bright" in the highlands on the Monday after the Grand Prix. Last year we had Craig Coxhel (reigning australian Superbike Champion) join us at the PUB in bright. It was really good fun and it's on the way home for most of you.

Cheers

Damo

Sweet, have fun. A mate of mine just went up there for a track day on his YZF426 motard, he had a blast. Especially liked stiching up the thous thru the corners but them blasting by at 240+ made him sad Have a great day, stay rubber side up!!

the tyre is worn on all over, possibly more no the sides, its a blade come on, what you thinking!!!

but it should have enough tread to get me through the day without a worry.

Ive only done one track day before at darlington park and that was good, be good too compare the two.

Take enough dough to get a new tyre fitted while you are there, just in case. Most track days have a tyre fitting service.

It'd suck to get half way thru the day and have to stop because your tyres toast.
