| Re: Ohlins shock price Sook? OK, Ohlins price is $1895 for the good shock and only that has ride height adjustment. The cheaper one is $1295, and he said they could put a height adjuster on it (80%) butthat will add around $300-400, in which case, you'd get the better shock anyway. They don't have the cheap onein stock, butthey do have good one. I can do it for you for $1750. BUT like I said, for hthat money, I'd be getting the suspension revalved and re sprung for less money than that, and that is front and back. If you'relooking to increase the ride height, they can do that as well, but it'll be fixed. Still, around $1000 for front and rear valving and springs, compared to $1750 for a rear shock....I know what I'd be doing.
Tankslapper on its way. Sorry dude, I forgto about it. Ooops. |

Ooops. | Ohlins rear shock should be way better than standard though. $1000 is about right if you get gold valves n stuff put in the front and rear shock, as well as new front springs. I would be looking at Ohlins valves or some Racetech alternative though. Not too fond of it. Great for racers who replace their stuff all the time, but not for the long haul.
The Ohlins would be awesome though. I'd love one if I could afford it! |

| Re: Ohlins shock price Sook? To be brutally honest....when I swapped my standard shock for the Ohlins I expected a lot more difference than I got.......the turn in was different....but other than that not a massive thing ( I had both the standard and Ohlins set up by " Radar " ). Having the front end revalved and resprung was a much more noticeable benefit ! |

| Re: Ohlins shock price Sook? The only reason the Ohlins works better is because of the valving etc. When I said gold valves, I meant race tech. Even for the "long haul" it'll be cheaper and better al round for your bike to getthe front and rear done like that than get just a rear shock, as Mickey just wrote. |

| Re: Ohlins shock price Sook? Whoever said I'm getting "just" a rear shock Havign done some research, it was pretty much clear the the blade has a good front end set up, that needs a bit of tweaking, with a crap rear shock that needs to be binned. The front end is getting a complete re-do when the rear goes in. should make for a nice difference, if riding Futants bike is anything to go by...

Z... | That's just the thing.....I was able to get the standard shock to a much better set-up just through " tweaking " than the front end.....the springs were way to soft on the front while the rear was fine.....and the valving also needed work. The jump to the Ohlins at the rear wasn't that noticeable.....while the change at the front WAS. |

| Re: Ohlins shock price Sook? Yep, that's what I was saying to aussie. For the money you'll spend on a new Ohlins, you can get the front and rear done, have change, and it will be a much bigger difference. But, each to their own. |
