Personally, I see no victory in that headline . . . |

Personally, I see no victory in that headline . . . | I agree that its no victory but think its a step in the right direction to let people understand that bikes aren't as bad as they think. To many people think bikes and right away see images of old hells angels movies (at least thats the impression I have been getting over the past 2 seasons since I started riding)
Dangerous they are but then again so is a car in the wrong hands |

| Re: Surprise surprise I noticed that when I went to Houston. That if you ride a bike there, they think you're a "bikey" right away. But not down here. Bikes are sweet downhere |

| Re: Surprise surprise As i said before this is not news to any bike rider, it is just the police and road authorities are in denial.
It is far easier to blame speed which also maintains revenue, and of course the dead dont defend themselves.......
What about that do gooder bland faced government funded fool who wants to stop P platters aged under 25 from driving after 9pm!
The problem with this age group is testosterone, lack of skill / judgment and alcohol. Training and maybe a kw graded licencing system such as for motorbikes would stop a lot of accidents and Darwinism would sort out the rest.
I know if i had access to a V8 when i first got my licence i doubt if i would be here today...... |

| Re: Surprise surprise You forget that it's our god given right to drive the biggest fastest car you can, as soon as you can. Hahaha They won't do that coz it'll lose them votes. |

It's a big bonus for us down here cause for example , last year they stuck an extra $50 on every bike registration every year because of the accident rate of bikes. Now that $50 for each bike should be distributed to every car as well. |

I'm waiting for them actually do something effective though.
I'd be interested to see what the drivers do when they are faced with an extra $50 on thier rego, they might become a little more warry of Riders if they have to start paying for our safety. |
