| time to trade-up ? Hi guys......my insurance is just about due and I am thinking now might be the time to " move on " to a new bike. At this point I am undecided about which one.....but will try to ride a few and make a decision pretty soon.
Anyone know someone in the market for an '03 Blue / Black bike ? At present it has heaps of stuff on it, but I figure that'll all be coming off and will be sold seperately. For info what I have as extras is:
Full Micron Serpent with Ti Can
PCIIIr ( custom mapped by Sook )
Ohlins shock
Hyperpro Damper
Second hand adjustable rearsets, slight wear on gear side from low speed drop ( not me, the guy I bought them from )
Track Fairing......pretty average condition.....Castrol Red paintjob
The bike has also had the front end re-sprung / re-valved etc
Cheers
Mike

| Re: time to trade-up ? The CBR1000RR is a heaps better bike Mike. You'll love it. But you can tell me that after you ride them all. Haha.
Booth, insurance doesn't change much down here for 600 vs 1000 etc. It's basically a "under 250cc" and "over 250cc" thing really. |

Only reason I haven't done anything already is the hassle of taking all the stuff off it. Speaking of which.....Sook.....how much will it cost me to bring the bike in to you so you can swap the standard system for the Micron ? ( the rest I can do no worries....it's just the cabling for the Htev that I've got no idea of....as your guys removed it originally ) |

another reason for trading up could be that mickyboy wants to restart the mod lifecycle again. |

Am I right or what Mick? |

Mate...I can honestly say that I will definitely be getting all my extras from you....no matter what I end up getting next ( you know...I just added things up roughly in my head......I have spent around $6k - $7k at your place in mods and accessories so far....why not shoot for the big 10 ? ). Only problem is I gotta get the Blade back to standard so I can sell it.....unless anyone knows someone in the market for it AS IS ?
Mike

Before I came here I was just putting on a tank protector, rack, frame sliders and that was it. Now my lists has exploded, I've spent over $1k and still looking for stuff.
Anyway back on topic, mickyboy this page might give you a hand with expected sale price. http://www.redbook.com.au/Mcycle/price.asp?key=HOND02DO |

Now that I think of it I've only spent like $300-400 on mods to the 929 and I'm pretty happy with whats done and the only things I can think of doing are a power commander and custom map (which hopefully I'll get done this coming winter) and black sets and maybe a double bubble, can always use a little more wind protection.

Serpent, PCIIIr, gearing and mapping $2900
Damper $700
Front forks $600
Rear Shock $800
Braided lines $150
Oggy knobs ( frame sliders for those in the US ) $120
Rearsets $350
Track Fairing $450
Total $6070
Note that almost all of this was bought at some sort of discount, or the parts were second hand. Full retail would add another thousand or so |

I came on this site talking about 'oggy knobs' and no-one knew what i was on about, so I changed my terminology to 'frame sliders' and now when I wonder into a dealer they have no idea what I'm refering to. So in Australia, at least, oggy knobs is the term of preference. |
