| Re: Melbourne Massive Motorcycle Clothing Sale........I think..... I wondering if they are going to have good gear there, with those kinds of brand names you'd think they'd get a better billing on the Show Grounds website. |

| Re: Melbourne Massive Motorcycle Clothing Sale........I think..... I went Saturday morning.....and there was a line outside so it took about 10 minutes to finally file into a pretty small space with so many people.
My SO picked up a nice little bargin pair of courdura pants for $80 so she is well on the way to getting all her gear for her test next week (helmet and gloves remain)
I picked up a 'cheap' HJC helmet so when I get my pocket bike I'm not endangering my Shark helmet. And I have the feeling that I'm going to be pushing that little bike pretty hard, I had a big stack on the last one I was on and I quickly got back on and kept going, so I don't see myself pushing any less. But I'm still looking for a pair of boots.
Suposedly there was 2 shipping container loads of stuff dropped off at the sale but by the time I got there, stock was already getting pretty thin. Plus about 60% of the stuff was dirt bike gear so not of much interest to me. But bugger me, those guys MUST have made a huge amount of cash by all accounts the place has been packed out the whole time.
In the end it was a worth while trip, especially for the pants, the SO is being massively flukey on getting great deals on her gear, she's probably saved close to $400 on the jacket and pants. then again the fact that she fits into the small freaky sizes helps.
Apparently Peter Steven's Import arm was one half of the people behind the sale and someone mentioned that there was an ad for a similar sale next month. But I'll have to double check that to be sure at the moment the second sale is a wild accusation. |

| Re: Melbourne Massive Motorcycle Clothing Sale........I think..... I was mislead about the second sale, the person who told me about it confused the Expo with a sale but se insists that there is a sale on but I somehow doubt it (at least not one with a really decent discount on items). |

I tell you what Z, if you setup the same sale up in Sydney and made sure you got the word out the local motorbike community you'd make an ABSOLUTE killing.
At least the first two days of the sale there was a constant line outside the room it was held in. So even though there was a massive discount (seemed to be somewhere between 30%-70% off) on most stuff but there was SO MANY people went through and picked something up that there would have had to of been a massive profit made. The only problem I found was that there was about 60% dirt bike stuff which wasn't that interesting to me.
Did anyone else go? |
