| Anyone know of a good bike mechanic in the Carrum Downs (Melbourne, Vic, Aust.) area? Hi All,
Does anyone know of a good bike mechanic in the Carrum Downs area? My SO is going to check out an Across ( Why god Why!!!!) this weekend and I would like to get it mechanically checked before any money is handed over. I'm happy to pay for the time to get it checked out, a few dollars now could save many hundreds or thousands later.
I'd really likeher first bike to be largely problem free so she has a painless time on it and we add another to the motorcycling fold for the long term. So any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Matt |

However personally id still try and sway her towards a CB |

Give Coxy a ring at Bay City Holden 97844444 (Ask for Glenn Cox) tell him your from the forum and Mick (ratter) said to ring him, he has a mate that works at top gear that looks after him pretty good, he may be able to do something for you. |

Spoke to him a few weeks back and his bike should be back together probably in a month or 2 and he may do some more riding, but there is pressure on him to get rid of it after his mishap as he has a couple of young kids at home and a wife who used to be a nurse. |

That was one of the first things I tried but they don't do bikes (anymore, I was pretty sure they used to ).
The main problem is that she is a little closer to the ground than most (a'la Bacchus) and the other bikes she tired on the weekend we went around and checked out were too talk and she didn't feel confident sitting on them.
We didn't come across a CB250 that weekend and the CBR250R(R) were too tall, but she liked the CB250 during the L's Course so she is considering them now. She also wanted to get a bike with fairings on because the look better and this particular bike has been resprayed (he has before and after photo which show it wasn't in a crash) so she is entranced by the colour.
But I'm giving the CB250 a really big push where as before I have not tired to influence her (other than to stay clear of scooters and harleys) so hopefully we'll be able to get the cheaper CB250 and save on insurance and drop damage costs.

Thanks Ratter, I'll keep Coxy's mate in mind |
