| Performance Mods 2004 1000RR Blade Anybody done any mods such as removing pollution gear and getting rid of the air restictor vale in the air box on the 04 1000RR. I'm trying to get the weight under 170Kg with about 180hp. The hp is getting close but there are a few things the bike could do without. Also has anybody tried the Motec fuel management systems there supposed to be really good but in South Australia nobody knows anything about them. Lastly, Nitrous systems, anybody fitted one to the new Blade yet. Had one on a 97 Blade and it was awsome.

| Re: Performance Mods 2004 1000RR Blade How close to 180 are you? with what mods etc? Motec is a great engine management system, but fukin expensive, and even when you know what you're doing with them, you CAN end up tying yourself in knots. My mate ran a Motec system on his SP1, (RC51) and while we would come into the pits, get off, have a break, and a talk, relax etc, he had his lap top out, refining this and that, adjusting this and that........it never friggin' stopped. He also blew two engines (not Motec's fault but.............) we ran Powercommanders and once they were mapped, that was it. Set and forget as they say. |

Most my mods have added weight (no-cut oggy knobs and ventura rack) but I did do the flapper mod, not sure if it has any performance gain (buggered if I can work out why it needs more). 1000RR Flapper Valve |

Mods include:
Both intake and exhaust valves disabled or removed
Power commander
60% better flow air filters (Trade off is they let more **** into the engine)
Full yoshi system, (maybe not the best choice)
In the weight department I've removed all the the crap the bike can do without such as pillion pegs, strap hook points, plastic crap and aluminium cover from exhaust. This doesn't amount to a great weight reduction but it all helps and I'm only 60kg myself. I'd like to get rid of all the pollution gear but have found no solid info on how to do it properly. |

Man Adelaide sux for getting bike gear. I asked about the no cut oggy knobs and were told they don't exist. Can you give me some info on the ones you fitted. P.S Can always do with more power. Can't let these R1, ZX10, and Gixxer riders think they can get the better of the mighty Blade. |

| Re: Performance Mods 2004 1000RR Blade With those mods I doubt you're anywhere close to 180 hp at the wheel. I bet 165 max. The air filter change may end up hurting you...we learned that with the 929/954 and RC51...stock works really well. If you want 180 I bet you have to go into the motor or get some kind of forced induction, like the nitrous you mentioned or a turbo.
Good luck, though! |

| Re: Performance Mods 2004 1000RR Blade I was gonna say the same thing. With the Yoshi system and pc (especially if it's not mapped for your bike) you'll be lucky to have 160..............real lucky. Start sellin your arse if you want 180, coz you're gonna need some serious $'s. Haha
I can get you the knobs, but they are heavy, with the brackets etc. VERY heavy. I also have Arata rear sets, Tankslapper tank guards.........etc etc.......................your wish is my command. hahaha |

| Re: Performance Mods 2004 1000RR Blade Just a thought, the brackets and oggy knobs are basically over the top of the front wheel so they may just help keep it down a little more with the extra HP you are chasing. |

| Re: Performance Mods 2004 1000RR Blade Well , the whole Setup is 1450 Euros .
I cannot say if this is affordable or not ....
BTW : In use Motec for my Bikes since 2002 , past 4 years I went deeper and deeper into this ECU , and now I cannot imagine to ride a Bike without those features I have with this golden Box.
For my new Project (if there's some Time left ) i.E. I try to go for Traction-Control

| Re: Performance Mods 2004 1000RR Blade back again, i also had a 50hp dry shot nitrous fitted before with just a yoshi slipon, instead of my full system, just slapped it on to c how it went, it made 175hp at the wheel but was poorly set up, with the right jetting and setup 180hp would be easy, and cheap too, i got a complete dry setup for $375 from the states on ebay (ebay is king) cant say wether it will hurt ur motor or not though, i took it off before i got too silly..... |
