| Be on the look out of Alpinestars SP-1 gloves Its seems my year old SP-1 Gloves are coming to the end of their life with a worn hole in the left index finger. I would have thought that a ~$180 pair of gloves would last longer with daily usage all year round but there you go. Does that seem reasonable wear?
I'd like to get another pair to replace the ones I have but apparently they aren't being made any more so I reduced to finding some stock on a shelf somewhere.
Could you guys keep half an eye out for an XXL pair (found XL and S but not XXL) in your travels of bike shops?
Thanks!! |

Yer the GP Plus or SP-3 is supposed to "replace" the SP-1 I'm told by Redwing but I still haven't given up on the SP-1 yet but this will probably be my fall back option. So group buy might be on but I can already get a 10% discount at Redwing or Bikemart with netrider membership so unless we get some serious numbers that would probably be equivalent.

| Re: Be on the look out of Alpinestars SP-1 gloves My first pair of GP Plus' went 50,000 miles including a lot of rain-soaked touring. I'm now, or course, on my second pair.
PS. if you paid $180 for SP-1's , you're getting hosed. That's what the GP Plus' RETAIL for and I get them for about $150. |

| Re: Be on the look out of Alpinestars SP-1 gloves Just bought some Joe Rocket GP Tech gloves, very comfy, all the bits only $170. The stitching is on the outside not on the in like the gp+ much nicer feel, and cheaper! |

| Re: Be on the look out of Alpinestars SP-1 gloves Thanks Hammer but so far I've found that even if a webstore has them on the books they don't have stock and I've been burnt buying stuff from the US. Customs and the last mile courier basically double the cost of what is already a pricey purchase (if in fact they will send the item down under).
If I can't find the gloves locally then I'll bite the bullet and pick another model.
I appreciate the effort. |

| Re: Be on the look out of Alpinestars SP-1 gloves Tired on some Joe Rocket gloves at thier stand today, every complaint I had against the Alpinestars was addressed in their designs.
1. Seams are sown on the outside of the glove so that fabic folds don't dig into your hands
2. Very comfortable even during the first wear (i.e. no painful 2 months of wearing in the gloves)
3. feel more secure on the hand
But the gloves feel too comfortable, do they really offer proper protection? Anyone put and Joe Rocket gloves through its paces?
