| Aussies source for secondhand 1000RR fairings Hey.
Do any of you guys know of a source to get some secondhand fairings for a 1000RR?
I'm looking for the lower and upper left fairing and front cowl. Perferably in the white, red and blue tri colours.
This is my last ditch effort to repair on the cheap before hitting my insurance up for it and me coughing up the excess so any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks. |

Thanks. | Hi Matt - I actually shopped around the wreckers recently for a new seat (having one custom modified). Only one place in Melbourne seemed to have a new Blade being wrecked - and from the sounds of it they were most likely to be getting further ones in. Heres the downside. They wanted $150 for a seat with damaged mounts. For obvious reasons I wont name the place but I wont be dealing with them in a hurry... Most Honda places were selling NEW ones for $170 and Redwing sold me mine for $140 because I had bought the bike there. Secondhand parts for the Blade are jus tnot that cheap in Melbourne at the moment. (not good news to you I know). |

| Re: Aussies source for secondhand 1000RR fairings Wreckersare dreaming for the prices they want for stuff. Especially when you know what they pay for it, but they base their retails on what they sell for new, not what they bought it for andthen mark it up from that. Yeah, we're all here to make money, but $150 for a 2nd hand seat, knobs. |

| Re: Aussies source for secondhand 1000RR fairings thanks for the link to findapart.com.au FuTAnT I'm now the proud owner of pristine set of red/white/blue 1000RR fairings.
A full set, been on the road for a sum total of 1000km and removed since the bike was going to be a race bike.
Saf was kind enough to check them out for me and I just forked out the........wait for it!!! wait for it!!! $1300 for the full set (both left and right pairs, tank fairing, front, rear, undertail, indicators, pillion seat...THE WORKS!!!!!), I'm pretty bloody happy!!!!
Should make the repair job nice and cheap.
So again my thanks go to FuTAnT and Saf Thanks guys!!! |

| Re: Aussies source for secondhand 1000RR fairings Kick ass mate, glad the site helped you out. Sounds like that $1300 is a bargain! Not only do you have a full set of brand spankers (basically) but you've also got some spares now as well. You could get the shabby ones repaired professionally then resell them or keep them for spares until you get rid of the bike a few years or whatever down the track.
Top stuff! |

| Re: Aussies source for secondhand 1000RR fairings I figure if I keep them as spares I'm one step ahead of Murphy, so it should ensure I stay upright. |

| Re: Aussies source for secondhand 1000RR fairings Well my second hand fairings from Perth arrived last week and I finally had a chance to grab them from work and take a few photos at home.
Below is what great fortune and $AU1300 gets you. http://home.swiftdsl.com.au/~matt232...dHandFairings/
Just need to sort out the other scratches, and damage and I've been given a rough quote of $AU300 so I should be around my $AU1500 excess and have an entire set of fairings in reserve. |

Sorry but I think I hang onto my little find of a full set of fairings for a very cheap price might come in handy at a later stage. But like I said there are 1000RR fairings and various other parts listed on the formula extreme website in the classifieds. |
