| newbie saying hello hi guys,
great to read we have a following here, i especially find it all of interest as i currently live halfway between melb and adelaide!!
no such thing as bike shops around here to ask questions about problems, never mind get spares!!
i do have one question though, if anyone can lend a hand would be appreciated, i bought a 93 900 with 44k on, did the usual plugs oil and oil filter change, but couldnt get an air filter until next week, so running it at the mo without the air filter(yep i know im gonna suck in loads of sand,)but only did 10k's to get an idea on the bike, problem is that it idles good, but under load it wont accelerate once i reach around 7000rpm?
it just stutters??
thinking its just because its getting too much air?
will the air filter fix it?
also i am moving to perth in september, and would like to get it on the dyno, but have no idea where and who to talk to in perth, also have no idea on the cost of dynos here, i know they are bloody expensive in the uk, mind you what isnt expensive there!!!
any help would be greatly appreciated.
gary. |

| Re: newbie saying hello Welcome - dunno about Dynos in perth but the Power commander web page has lists of their certified tuners in Australia...
As for the accelleration - most likely the air cleaner. Nothing you can do about it until then anyway. |

| Re: newbie saying hello Welcome dude
If you wanna solve your "running like a dog" problem, refit your old filter. It wont hurt your bike, just make it run a little rich. Blades dont run well without fiters. Ive got a K&N sitting in the shed. I put it in and the bike ran like craaaaap. Until I can get the bike rejetted its useless. I took my filter out just for fun and the bike wouldnt even start.
As for a slip on, scan ebay and the trader. Something is bound to pop up eventually. |
