to dyno or not to dyno???

hi guys, ive put up a few posts about my cbr99rr and the running problems, but have today fitted new plugs after fitting a pipercross air filter and yoshi rs3 bolt on, now seems to be running really smoothly, before fitting the filter and muffler it was fouling plugs every time it was run?

the question i have is should i have it on the dyno to find out why it was fouling, and more importantly will it need to be rejetted and dyno'd after the fitting of the extra's?

the nearest dyno to me is about 2 hours drive and they have quoted me $209 for the jet kit and $250 for the fitting and dyno tune, is this about right, not sure as have never had a bike on the dyno in oz before (yeah im a pom)

tia for help.

Re: to dyno or not to dyno???

The dyno isn't gonna fix anything as such. It can (if they have an air/fuel sensor) tell you if it's rich or lean etc, but that's about it. If it's fouling, I'm thinkin it doesn't need a jet kit, which will only give it more fuel. I'm thinking your carb's just need pulling apart and setting up right, make sure everything is right with them first and go from there. A jet kit is only gonna make your bike richer, so if it's fouling now, have fun with the jet kit.

To dyno once or twice

How much value added is there to having a spring and summer map? We get about a 10-15Cº swing with a significant increase in relative humidity.
