The few times I went it was pretty lame. Been a few years though.

Re: wat did melb expo rate???

It was OK but not as good as previous years IMHO
Jeffs shed made it hard to navigate some areas that means you might miss some stalls.
Unlike previous years that had nearly all the new bikes to be released all we got was the R1, no new blade, zx10, r6, daytona etc.
Oh and the AMCN were really tight on giving out back issues which is new, I could only scab 3 copies, last year got a dozen, still didn't make me want to subscribe though.
Honda girls got the vote for quality crumpet, I'm sure the pic I saw being taken of a few girls attacking Fred Gassit humping there leg will make the next issue.
Overall still a good time and worth going, too bad the weather was shite as.
Oh bought some ear moulds, $55 but well worth it, freaking awesome no wind noise in my helmet at all and can really hear the growl of the pipe, yes expensive but what price do you put on your hearing?

ps rsv-r factory in silver made me nearly cream my pants, OMG I have to have one!

Re: wat did melb expo rate???

about on par with the previous years but not sure about the layout, while it was good to have the single space for all the stalls, access to ride display areas was pretty poor.

But the mnaufacturers were more willing to allow people to sit on thier bikes so that was good.

I thought the best bike was a tastey prototype VTR1000 in the middle of the Honda stand....lots a very inovative gear on that thing including single swing arm and front fork and an aerodynamic under engine (yes engine) exhaust.

But there was no showing for the local custom leather suit manufacturers.

But I did pick up some well designed sunnies (arm doesn't close onto the lens so I can fold them in my pocket without scratching), checked out sizing on a very well equiped Shark Helmet stand (RSR2 or RSX to choose from now) and got a discounted copy of A Twist of the Wrist I and II.

And also picked up one of these, to be stuck near the steering damper to keep me honest.
