| The Little guy is getting hitched rideout! Well the little bugger has done it, he's made it to our shores, escaped the detention centres, and is getting hitched
Who- Bacchy of course!
When- Saturday the 11th of Febuary 2006
Where- South Australia (ahhhhhhh!)
Invite to all Aussie .org members if we can make it over, so I'm proposing (note pun) a ride out to the .org event of the year!.
Ride to the event over a couple of days (there and back) via GOR (the best riding rode on the planet) many beers and cheers along the way.
So who would be interested? |

| Re: The Little guy is getting hitched rideout! I had to go see him leave the country and now I have to leave mine to see him get hitched? Isn't it odd he had to go that far away where no one knew him or his native friends to get hitched? Just watch him,,,Bacchus has been known to show his ass in public. It's not a pretty sight. |

| Re: The Little guy is getting hitched rideout! Got baccy's and susans invite today.
Its about a 1100km trip if you take in the GOR and probably 12-13 hours of solid riding (plus stops and the ~107km twisties)......are we all sure that we want to do that twice in three days with a decent swaray in the middle?
Also I dare say we wouldn't be able to get much time to hang out with Baccy if we just did the three day thing, something tells me he will be a little preocuppied on the Saturday. Not sure if there is a morning after breaky or something or if the two of them are going to disappear off for the honeymoon straight after....but Sunday is unlikely to offer much and when we arrive after the ride I doubt we are going to be very functional.
Perhaps we should think about a Thursday trip to Adelaide then a lazy friday, wedding Saturday and a return on the Sunday (means we are going to need to keep a little in check the night before ).
Then again a plane might be more practical (even cheaper) if its going to be a 3 day deal. |

Just showing up would be a cool 'gift' you could always come back later (or meet half way) to visit. Just a thought since it is to far for me to have any chance Maybe one day I will be able to graze the down under

So what were you planning Will, 3 or 4 day trip or longer? |

| Re: The Little guy is getting hitched rideout! So a depart on Thursday from Melbourne.....to knock off the trip in a day we are looking at a 5 or 6am depart at least. Its going to kill me but we don't want to be fighting roos at dusk at the other end of the 14+ hour trip and it will mean there will be a cleaner run along the GOR. rough route (but I can't make this thing mark the extact route in some spots.)
I'd say we have first fuel stop in geelong, next in apollo bay, Lunch in Lavershill, Warnambool next fuel unless we can streach it to portland (from here I'm not familair with the roads expect one ride to Mt Gambier), Mt. Gambier.
From here we have a choice of following hwy 1 along the coast (Kingston S.E. [158km fuel], tailem bend [+198km fuel] or cut inland via penola [51km] , naracoorte [+50km] , keith [+126km, total of 227km for fuel] and tailem bend [+130km fuel]. The inland route is about 4km longer but it might offer more oppurtunity for streaching the legs a little but it would be nice to know what the road surface is like on the two options.
How does that sound? Any preference about the route once we are in SA?
Also can anyone provide any info about the road conditions along the two SA routes? (keep in mind by that time we are going to be rooted so twisities probably aren't going to be that interesting as opposed to making best speed to a nights sleep.
I've ridden to warnambool and up to hamilton a few times in the last year (and once over Mt Gambier the following day) the 107km + section of twisties along the GOR takes it out of you especially with all the slow tourists. My guess is we'll be making a pretty straight run on the return trip after already clocking up quite a few kays already.
I'm still a little worried about the ride back the morning after the wedding reception but I guess we'll just have to tough it out.
Bacchus how does thier fit in with your plans(Arrive in Adelaide around 9pm Thursday, stuff around Friday, pretty ourselves for Saturday, nick off Sunday)?
Zee how where you planning it(arrival, depart, solo or with your SO, sharing accomodation with us?)?

| Re: The Little guy is getting hitched rideout! We could go all the way and work out a way to make it an Iron Butt (1000miles, 1600km) and polish that off in 24 hours.
Bacchus will just have to pour us into our suits on Saturday and rig up some suspension cables, guy lines and some harnesses so we can move around at the reception. |
