| What do you reckon? Looking to buy an August 01 'blade from a dealer. Great condition, appers genuine 6500kms. They're asking $11950 ride away with six months rego.
I've done a little internet reasearch and I am surprised to find that based on the few ads I've seen that price is about right given it's from a dealer.
So what do you reckon.. .worth $12k?
TIA |

It only has 6 months rego left plus don't forget to add the stamp duty. Ride away offer less than $10,500, thats what it's worth.
I sold my mint 01 with 7,000km's lots of goodies 2 years ago for $11,300 and it took me a while to get a buyer at that price.
Their dealers, it's winter, and if your keen money talks, talk ride away price too, if they won't do it for less than 10,5 walk away, theirs plenty more bikes out there.
Good luck their great bikes |

| Re: What do you reckon? I agree. Most 929s seem to be going for 10,500 or even less privately - or at least thats what I found when I was on the market a few months ago.
Keep in mind that you can even get a decent 954 for that price (bought my 954 for $10,500 with six months rego, albeit with a few more kms than the 929 you're looking at getting).
Are you dead set on buying one off a dealer, or are you willing to go private? I'm guessing you know that you should be able to save some decent money if you buy privately? |

| Re: What do you reckon? Stamp duty is included in the price and seemed suggest that I'd get it for $11500. I realise that the dealers are more expensive but I need a trade on my 92. I am not sure I want to take the risk selling privately tho there are thousands that do and I've yet to hear of one that went wrong....
What amused me was redbooks is usually miles less than dealers are asking but not this time! Red books says up to 12 for average condition and miles!!!!
$10500 sounds about right tho. As you've said, and I've seen there are 954's for that money. If i argue private prices for it I have to accept private prices for my 92. My 92's in 'typical' condition, stock with 75'000kms so it's only got to be worth 5k right? Given that logic I'd need to get it for $5500 change over? I'll let them stew for a few days so the don't think I'm too keen and see...after all, it's been there for four months already (according to them)
Thanks for the advice |

| Re: What do you reckon? Sounds better now
My last bike was a '96 900RR with 50k kms on it, and I bought it for $5k. If you're getting $5,500 for your 900RR its probably a bit less than what you'd get if you sold it privately and were patient about it, but hey thats a decent trade in nevertheless.
$11,500 with stamp duty and a decent trade in on your old bike sounds pretty decent all up. I'm guessing you'll try to haggle a bit more just coz you can but good luck with it either way! |

| Re: What do you reckon? where abouts in oz are ya mate?
i first started looking at 929 they had 11490 on it at another dealer, i was getting my yzf fixed after i snapped the gear shaft. asked the manager how much lower he will go, he looked down his nose at me and said why whats wrong with the price.. i couldnt believe the nerve the bike had been sitting there for 6 months that i know of, admitedly it only had 16k on the clock but christ attitude does not sell bikes.
some dealers i guess just wont budge on a price if they paid too much for it and wait for that sucker to walk in.
if your in brissy i know theres a 954 yellow/black at morooka and there very good to haggle with |
