| Australia's favorite and greatest biking roads. Ok all you Aussie Guys and Gals, lets hear what, where and why are your favorite and greatest bike roads where you live. Mine is Gingers Creek on the Oxley Highway near Port Mcquarie, as I live about one and a half hours away in the coastal town of Old Bar. Gingers Ck has a little shop about half way through the main lot of twisties that are continious corners ranging from 25klmph to 55klmph and stretch for about 45 klms. Its a must do ride but be careful, it can bite. Now it's your turn!

| Re: Australia's favorite and greatest biking roads. Putty road from Singleton to Windsor. Live at the bottom of Mt Glorious, north side of Brisbane so like to get up early on the weekends and go for a fang over and back. Not a long ride but plenty of tight corners. |

The lil lady can't see the reasoning why I go that way, (8 hrs odd) when it's only 4+hrs down the expressway.

| Re: Australia's favorite and greatest biking roads. I can testify to the bite of the OX, it got me last Xmas. If it wasn't for the arse end of the 929 hitting a tree, shortly followed by me, i had a fairly strenuous climb over the cliff to retrieve her.
All this and i was only doing 50k/ph, oil on the road is bad.
It's funny how you don't care if you plummet over the edge as long as the bike stays up there........
Other roads that get the blood pumping would be the Old Pacific Hwy running from the Central coast of NSW to Sydney and the Royal National Park south of Cronulla winding down to Bulli AND Macquarie pass.
Also any of the Adelaide Hills roads in South Australia are awesome. |

| Re: Australia's favorite and greatest biking roads. yep the oxley can bite, it nearly got me, big highside but somehow managed to land back on the seat after nearly kissing the front guard, great road butt. also the putty is my regular haunt, singleton end is best. i recently did the black spur when i was in vic for the gp this year, a lovelly piece of hotmix over a mountain on the maroonda hwy between healsville and alexandra, i highly recommend it.... |

| Re: Australia's favorite and greatest biking roads. My favorite is the Great Ocean Road, It's just great lots of tight corners between Lorne and Apollo Bay. But between Apollo Bay and Lavers hill it widens up a bit for some faster corners.
You do have to get down there early in the morning though cos there are alot of tourists at this time of year. And the main reason i like this ride is because it's right on my back doorstep! |

Personally I much rather Mt Hotham, especially the east side down to Omeo. |

| Re: Australia's favorite and greatest biking roads. up the Reefton spur down to marysville down the black spur,on a good day these roads are awsome, couple of roads from gembrook to warburton have some good fast sweepers,Reefton has collected its fair share of bikes though, gravel on inside lines can cause some grief, black spur has no room for error, guard rails nearly all the way down, but both top roads |

| Re: Australia's favorite and greatest biking roads. Fave "fast" run is what we call The Delamere Run,posted at 110 nearly the whole length, open sweepers, usually not much traffic, great road for just putting the head down and going.Other roads would be Montacute,Lobethal,Flaxley,or even a run to the Barrossa.Adelaide hills do tend to spoil you for choice |
