Lots of 'blades in the club; we ride every Sunday (hard, usually).
Cheers,

You're not wrong, the last two years I've done 2 week long trips down in Tassie, so easy to get to from Melbourne (Sydney misses out now that thier Ferry is closed) on the boat Friday night, wake up in the morning and ride, jump on the boat sunday night, get off at 6-7am well rested, ride home, shower and a shave and into work. Can't Pack too much more fun into a week than that arrangement. |

| Re: Hi to all the other Aussies out there G'day all,
Just thought I'd introduce myself in the Aussie forum. I'm an Aussie who returned last December from living in Detroit for 6 years (my wife is American). I bought back my bike with me...
It's a 95 900RR (Fireblade) with a Formula Xtreme race motor in it (945cc, 153.6hp at the wheel). I also have 954 forks, single sided swingarm, RC51 front wheel, Gixxer 1K '04 tail section. I just had in engineer inspected/approved, roadworthied and have an app. with Vicroads next week to get it registered. I'm also doing a little MotoGP decal work on the bike too (I can paint it as soon as the weather improves).
I'm looking forward to meeting the Melburnians on some rides. I live close to Southland. Is there something like a 'bike night' every week where bikers get together? (we had one every Thursday night in Detroit - it was pretty cool). How anal are the cops here? With my Gixxer tail section, the mudflap unbolts. Can I legally remove this? Also, with the reflector, any size reflector will suffice, right? Can you have an undertail as long as the indicators are spaced at least 30cm apart?
Cheers,
Simon

| Re: Hi to all the other Aussies out there Gday sime,
well with the popo, It all depends on your luck I guess..? I pretty sure they are alot harsher in Brisbane and sydney..? As for in Melb it all depends..I have a 06' 1000rr and I run a full micron system(very loud), CA intergrated stop lights, indicators...Haven't had popo trouble yet(KNOCK ON WOOD).
I don't have any reflectors, didn't know U needed them. No mudflap eitheir.
As for bike nights, I live on otherside of town so may be others around your side will hook U up.... |

| Re: Hi to all the other Aussies out there Welcome, I'm from down Southland way myself but am bikeless at the moment. Check out netrider, just google it, they have weekly meet ups in melbourne and there are a few members here that also hang with them. Sounds like one stand out machine I'll look out for it |

| Re: Hi to all the other Aussies out there Hey guys,
Thanks for the info. I'm not worried about the licence and reg check. The bike will be fully registered and I am fully licenced (with no restrictions). I have a Two Brothers Racing full system, but I have powdercoated it texture black and removed the TBR logo...so it looks pretty stock.
I also have this awesome Hotbodies undertail with yellow LED indicators built in...but they're 20cm apart. Hoping that I can get away with them. I will also have an illuminated plate as well as a small reflector on there too (roadworthy standards state that you do have to have a reflector on the rear of the bike - in addition to the tail light if that doesn't have an integrated reflector).
I'll check out about those rides on Netrider. Thanks for the tip. Will, once you get your new bike, maybe we can go for a ride?
Cheers!
