Don't think your bike is aerodynamic enough for that. |

| Re: Hi to all the other Aussies out there Brenny, a Serpent Micron system and PCIII with a filter will get you 145 at the rear wheel. I take it you're in Melbourne? If so, take it to Phil Tainton to get mapped. If in Sydney, bring it to me.
If you're still in themarket for a full system (you said you only got the pipe) I'd suggest the Arata full system. On my 600RR it made 3more h.p than that Serpent, and it's made better. I can supply you one on about 2 weeks, for around $2000. It will do 300km no prob. |

When the micron serpents came out for the 929 a few members got them and had the pc3 remapped, but they all suffered from a stumble/flat spot at lower revs and lost bottom end.
Zeeman and myself have both got 149+ hp from the hindle and a good remap.
Mine was done by Phil tainton racing and he took the time to try different air/fuel ratios and also to see if removing the flapper made any difference.
I purchased my hindle (brand new) from one of the US members, and after paying for freight and some duties it owed me $1050.00 and that was when our dollar was at approx .62-.65 dollars.
Never had any experience with ram air, but I would think there would be tuning difficulties involved, cause the map is set for different rpms at different throttle settings and would not allow for forced air
i.e 11000 rpm at full throttle in first gear would have no where near the same air going into it as 11000 and full throttle in 6th gear, so there would have to be a compromise somewhere in the tuning, but then again you could throw away the standard injection set up and go get a motech.
You may be better off spending the money on some head work, or a cam change or even bump up the compression, then change your gearing |

Probably not, I figure the can you allready have is a bolt on flange type ( ) the full systems normally use a slip fit muffler, and the pipe size may vary from one manufacturer to another |

| Re: Hi to all the other Aussies out there cheers Ratter...it would have been good to know that before i got my bike and the micron can..($600-) i would have just waited and then got the full system...yeah the Aussie doller is great right now i might look at ordering a exhaust from the US.
*Phil tainton racing* where would i find him...or is his workshop called that?? ill be broke for a few months and then ill get everything done i can...ive been looking at Ramair on the net and it looks like a pain in the arse... tho the guys at redwing think they can do an easy ramair kit to my bike for $1200- maybe they are full o'****....hmmm so i looks like ill try and sell my cans (stock and micron) and then get a full exhaust...then a PC111 and ill be set
also i was looking a new dyno tests of the 2004 bikes and the best was like 148RWHP stock hmmm it aint really that much more than our blades after we get a good exhaust...the hype looks like it was all just crap... stock ram air would be nice tho i dont think ill get a cbr1000... power aint that much more and i think the 954 looks better
cheers The Sook also man |

If you go there, don't be put off by the run down house out the front, he has a good workshop out the back that he prepares his race bikes |
