| Re: Hi to all the other Aussies out there When you get your pc, take it to Phil Tainton to get it mapped. As for importing one, you may save a few $'s, but if something goes wrong with it, Serco (importers for Oz) won't wanna know about it. I've had 3 customers in a week now that have to send the PC back to the states to get looked at and they're not happy. But Ratter is right, just get the PCIII. |

| Re: Hi to all the other Aussies out there Did a Great Ocean Rd ride last Thursday with a few crew from Sydney. It ended up being the nicest bloody weather and there was no traffic. And a first was I didn’t see one cop. Tho I was going slow through the towns. Id have to say it was the best ride ive ever done. Ive been down on the blade before but id only had it a few weeks and I was taking it real easy. Now I have 6000km on the clock (8 weeks old) and im a bit more happy in the seat and getting it down around the corners I opened it up a far bit and had a ball. Great experience guys…I really loved it about 3 /4’s down where it opens up and you can get 140+ corner speed and still feel extremely safe and get a good dose of adrenaline… I was never worried when I got my new blade for 15K ride away…but still im so bloody happy I got it.. when I got home after 8 hours on the bike I couldnt sleep…I was that shagged but with all the adrenaline there was no hope of me getting any shut eye |

I'm sure you could find someone trustworthy to help out, and I'm sure Cal-sportbikes are trustworthy, just ask if any of the members have bought from them and see what reaction you get.
Before I sent the money for my hindle, I asked if the seller was trustworthy, and I couldn't believe it when I had over 3 pages of good comments about them and the way they traded. |

| Re: Hi to all the other Aussies out there Like i said, Until something goes wrong. Plus, you're supporting Oz business. Someone here (Serco) spends big $'s importing the product here and fixing any problems you have with it etc etc. Support Australia I say, and IF you have any probs, you're sweet. AND $600 isn't a bad price for one. They retail $699. Plus, you might get hit with customs, GST etc when it comes in. You might not, but you might. |

| Re: Hi to all the other Aussies out there Sook
I don't want to come off sounding like I'm flaming you or aussie buisness, but some of the distributors over here should realise the internet has made the world a lot smaller and easier to get things at the right price.
I agree that we should look after australian Buisness's, but they also have to look after their customers.
They would have to get things at a cheaper rate than we could, by either being distributors or by buying in bulk, freight would be cheaper with more items to distribute the cost over, so why can't they charge us a fair price?
The local importer for Hindle (you probably know who they are) wanted $1650 for a complete system and they could not do a high mount, I had my high mount landed for $1050. the money I saved almost payed for the pc3.
I purchased the pc3 locally (well interstate anyway), not because it was cheaper, but for warranty, easy to get etc and so far have not had any problems with it.
I have purchased 2 x pc3 from the same company no problems.
I also purchased 3 hyperpro dampers from the same company, I had a problem with the first one 1 month out of warranty and they did not want to help, even though it was a commonly discussed problem on the net. In the end I had to complain to the manufacturer and they told the distributor to give me another one, so in the end I was happy, but the local distributor was next to useless, that's one of the reasons I figured i may as well brings things in myself as I need them and save some dollars.
I have no problems with you discussing buying Australian etc and if I lived in Sydney i would probably come to your shop, as I recieved good help via emails a while ago regarding remapping etc and even thought about riding up to get it done at your shop (until I found out about PTR)
I agree we should look to Australian companies first, but I would expect to pay better or at least the same, as if I could buy overseas plus freight.
Once again do not take this as a flame, just getting something off my chest, we need more knowledgable people like yourself on the board, it keeps everything real |

Strong aussie dolar, new free trade agreements and where still getting a bum steer. 19,990 for an sp-2!!
39,000 for a wing, which are made in the usa!
Just jump on the net, regardless of purchase place don't manufactorers still have a warranty agreement to fullfill should that product have a manufacturing fault? |

| Re: Hi to all the other Aussies out there Yeah Ive started buying things through mail order from the US of late as you just get done over buying locally! For exmaple most places are selling PC3Rs for $700-$750au when in the US u can get one for $319us (~$400au) not including shipping so if I can save myself $250 on one small item Id be crazy not to, our dollar has been on the rise for quite some time now and no one over here has dropped there prices from when the dollar was 49c, its now 80c! yet everyone keeps charging the same prices. Recently I bought and genuine Honda manual for the 954 from "repairmanual.com" all up it cost me $103 to my door, yet the dealers over here want $300 for it! bear in mind that Im buying from retailers and the price difference would already be a sufficent profit margin for any aussie retailer, im not sure how much cheaper things would be as they are buying in bulk and from the wholesaler! Anyway Ill support australian bussiness when they look after me as im not going to pay an extra half a weeks wage for a product just to "support aussie bussiness" and Ill take the risk of no after sales support as I could nearly buy a second item with the amount of money im saving! |

| Re: Hi to all the other Aussies out there That would never happen in Melbourne
Victorian police would just shoot em'
That's why we don't have riots here, and they only arrested 4 people and charged 2! That's F'd up, 50 cops injured, it will happen again cause there is no consequence for their actions.
Dude if I was a judge they would build a whole new prison system in my honor, cause I'd fill it up that quick! |

| Re: Hi to all the other Aussies out there yeah its rediculous that a group of "people" can show that much contemp for authority and not be disciplined, its beyond a joke and police should have more power when in a situation like that to retaliate! like you said 50 police injured and none of the rioters were injured as far as I heard, although if they were there would have been a big whoohar about the police brutality if some of them were injured, what most of the rioter needed was a damn good flogging in the least! Damm political correctness!

| Re: Hi to all the other Aussies out there If I was Prime Minister of this country (probalbly why Im not) Id have a covert fleet of trucks that drove around all the scummy areas in the middle of the night, this truck would have the exhaust plumbed strait into the back of it so it would be a like a mobil gas chamber and we would throw all the trash (including junkies and anyone who has been done for theft more than twice!) in the back and at the end of the night we would just drop them into a big incinerator! Just think how safe the city would be for everyday citizens, you would have complete piece of mind that you loved ones could safley walk the streets at night without the fear of being robbed or assaulted, you could park your car or bike out on the street over night without the fear that it would be gone or have the window broken when you returned the next morning, and your children could play in the park with worrying that they will step on a used needle!
Anyway Vote Jungleboy for PM!

Just think under your rule insurance premiums would plummet as the crime rate becomes nearly non-existant!

They ran him over with a police car

| Re: Hi to all the other Aussies out there The problem is also, that the importers get hit with freight, Duty, GST and the like, which you may or may not get hit with buying one thing. Also, it's stupid to try and market something that retails for $450 one minute, $650 a month later coz the $ drops in the arse, then $300 coz it's better again. It just doesn't happen.I agree that if possible, they should drop the prices, but they have to be sure that the $ won't go down again etc. PLUS, the importer has to get it here with the cost above, and sell it to a retailer, so that they make a little money, and then they retail it, and make a little money. And it ain't big dollars they're making, trust me.
Add to that, how would you feel if you bought a PCIII for $685. And then 1 month later, the dealer you got it from says "Oh, they sell for $450 now" ? Not very f'kin happy I bet.
Hyperpro is a little different, I call them Hyperleak. hahaha
And the guy I mentioned about the one he bought from the US, just cam to the shop to book it in for another pc and mapping, coz of the hassle he had with the one he got from the U.S. etc etc. I know what you're saying too, but you put yourself in their shoes, and you'd be doing the same thing.
