Mine generates a fair bit of heat, a lot more than my 929 used to, but it has not caused any problems, besides discomfort.
No 1/4 mile runs as yet, maybe 1 day, I used to take my old GSXR1100 to calder years ago, but have not taken any of my blades.
You will have a ball at the island if you ever get the chance to ride there
nearly forgot to add, ride with youe legs spread wide apart to get some cool air in there, when the ride permits. |

| Re: Hi to all the other Aussies out there Yep! You name a coastal town, I drank a beer (or 10) in it. Did a lot of interior trips too. Took the rough trip out of Kununurra (sp?), the "unimproved" dirt one (at the time) to the south of the Kimberley's. I had adventures that I won't even attempt to relate on Conq's bandwidth. Let's just say that I felt both fun and pain! |

Sounds like a fun trip.
Broome is the furtherest I have been from home, If you measured a straight line from melbourne to the furtherest spot in australia, i think broome would be it. |

| Re: Hi to all the other Aussies out there Just realized I made a mistake in the Kimberley route. Actually, the southern route was paved at the time. The route I took went smack through the Kimberley's. After totally slicing a tire and bending a rim early on, I hobbled on to the first cattle station (the guy owned three, totalling I think 2-3 million acres). He had a spare Toyota wheel w/tire, which I had to pay a fortune for - can you say middle of nowhere here? After his idiot help inflated the tire to a coupla hundred thousand kilo-pascals, or what-the-hell-ever they are down there, I finished the 4 day trip after breaking the bull bar brackets from vibration, plus about every bolt under the hood (bonnet) was half way out or gone. Never so happy to see Broome in my life! |

| Re: Hi to all the other Aussies out there Brenny, swan is the cheapest, and it dosen't get any cheaper till 25, I'm in the same boat.
Think about it, unless you right of your bike, insurance is not worth it, 3000 prem + exess of what 1200? roughly 4 grand worth if you claim, that's every fairing panel + tank+ pipe, do the math it dosen't work out for you.
Unless of course it's stolen or written off, or if it's compulsary on your finance.
At 22 you will pay the same price till 25, 3 years at 3000 is 9 grand! That's practically another bike in itself.
Insurance company's blow

| Re: Hi to all the other Aussies out there I can't believe that you're paying 3K for insurance! Have you tried Aurora, that's the mob I'm with. Mind you I'm an old fart at 34 but RACV were charging me $1200, QBE's quote was $900 and Aurora are doing it for around $550 fully comprehensive. Honestly brenny, as Will said, for that amount of cash, get yourself some aftermarket fairing, a tank from the wreckers and pay for third party fire & theft. It's a much better option buddy.
Will, if I'm ever in your ambo make sure you feed me with lotsa pethadine okay.... |

| Re: Hi to all the other Aussies out there Yeah cheers guys ...im all paid up for this year anyway...next years a different story....i dont mind this year coz its my first big bike and it was a big jump from my cbr250rr..and my bike was brand new last week...next year its older and if i havnt crashed it by then ill probably not get insurance again...just 3rd party..i only had 3rd party on the babyblade and i crashed that 5 times...3 by my self and i had 2 mates run into me so add another 100 HP with my new bike and it shouldnt be long before im dragging my arse along the road again...knock on wood
and anyway i might sell it after a year and go backpacking until im 25 and come back and get a black cbr1000 (not that it looks as good as my 954) |

| Re: Hi to all the other Aussies out there Earlier on this year when I got my 954 I insured with swan and the policy was $4060!!!!!! NRMA quoted me about the same and western QBE Quoted me $4600!!!!! I was 27 at the time and hadnt had comprehensive insurance on any vehicle before, hence the astronomical price then shortly after I found out about aurora (now Arista) and they quoted me $1223 for an agreed value of $17000, That was before I wrote off my bike since the accident Arista still offered me a 30% no claim bonus and Im now insured with them for just a little over $2k I dont know what they are like to deal with if something goes wrong (and hopefully I wont find out) I know it takes the forever for them to send out any paperwork and getting through to them on the phone can be a hassle as I also have two mates who have recently insured with them and theyve had pretty much the same experiance, Hopefully this is because of lean staffing, hence the low prices and there is no problems with them processing claims. |

| Re: Hi to all the other Aussies out there RACV quated me 2800 and qbe was 3200 NRMA was like 4200 most the others said flat out they wouldn't insure me. 23 no claim rating 1. Oh and most exess was around 1500!
I do believe it's an image problem as well as alot of squids are to blame to, bike theft is apparantly high, but it's a blade not an mv agusta senna!
Oh and Omen I'll give you as much as you can suck on bro |

| Re: Hi to all the other Aussies out there It could also be so much coz im rating 4. i got 3 party insurance with RACV with my babyblade and i hoped that when i got my next bike id have a history with them and they would do me a deal...well they sort of did they said i could have rating 2 but it was still going to cost me $4600 . if i was rating 2 with swan the insurance would only be $2000 and rating 3 was $2600. So i hope each year it drops when my rating gose up....ill just see
also >HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!< |

| Re: Hi to all the other Aussies out there Well all I'm away for a while now, holidays! Yes Zeeman not just you have them
By the time I get back Zee will have gone through another passport and Brenny and Omen will have put 15000 kms on their dial, coincidently 15000 is the numbr of posts ratter will have posted. Not bad considering I'm only away for a couple of weeks.
Of to work now for the last time in a while. Things are pretty bad 2 paramedics where killed yesterday at the black spur, knew both of them, hits pretty close to home, they were both good men who gave it 100% every job.
Well keep it upright boys, Brenny and Zop I'm looking in your direction!
Cheers all be good |
