Yeah just accelarate smoothly (not flat out) to about 50-60kph (approximately 5000rpm+ in 1st) and then just open up the throttle and it should come right up, no clutch and even sitting with your boys firmly against the tank shouldnt be a problem! It should stay up untill its about time to change to second ~10500-11000rpm then keep it going. Ive had mine up to about 170kph in third on a couple of occausions so far but think it will need more power to keep it up at any higher speed than this otherwise you have to keep dangerously close to the point of no return. And it gets even easier by about 4000km when ur engine has really loosened up (I ran my bike in quiet hard but it still performed better after about 4000k) seemed to notice it more in the mid range. just dont be too tense!

They will try to sell you the micron serpent, don't get it unless you want it to loose midrange and have a big stumble, a few of the members tried them when they first came out, but could not get the power smoothed out down low, many members, including myself and Z have had good results with the hindle.

Your bike will do it easy, you just have to perfect how you do it, but be very careful it can get nasty real quick (don't ask how I know )
Your bike is capable of lifting the wheel way too high even in 2nd gear without any clutch useage.

If you are trying to wheelie, go some where there is no other public around, wear your gear, have somebody with you incase things get bad, and don't try things too quickly, go step by step.

Re: Hi to all the other Aussies out there

Another thing is that should never pull up on the bars when trying to wheelie as the 954 has enough power to come up by it self and as some times it will come up quicker than others, if u get into the habit of reefing(sp) on the bars oneday it will come up alot quicker than expected and ull end up on your Arse!

Re: Hi to all the other Aussies out there

Yeah it was bloody terrible what happened to the two ambo guys. I'm glad that you enjoyed your ride through the spur brenny. I usually do a loop through pakenham up mt donna buang through the reefton spur, marysville, black spur and then take the koo we rup road to pakenham and thompsons road back home to chelsea. Usually takes me around three hours. How did you find the front end on the 954 going through the mid corner bumps on the black spur? They really need to re-surface that road me thinks...

Re: Hi to all the other Aussies out there

The ambo's just went off a corner (one they really need to bloody fix) and straight off a 20 meter drop with trees..both guys died. Bikers and cars go off the side all the time and the council just says..."they were speeding too bad" and puts some bloody (highrisk area) signs up. Its really bad that the Ambo's went off the edge but now they might get so much bad media that they might have to fix the damn road.

Yeah the Reeften is fantastic...ive gone off the black spur coz of the christmas traffic(i couldnt open it up more that a few corners before id have to stop). i did chumcreek road and myer road today. both good roads with no cars and no cops and they run up and down the same hill so you can stay there doing them and getting the same corners faster and so on and then stop in healsville for drinks every few laps
the front was really nice...it corners way better than id expected..though i wasnt pushing it as hard as i did on my 250 i didnt care much if i dropped that

First of all: COXY! Welcome back, mate. Hope that you have healed fully and are doing well.

Will, I about pissed my pants (yeah, I know, you guys have a different meaning for "pissed") reading this: Hmmm forks, sounds like a 5 beer job to me

'Cause one of my most indelible memories of Australia was the "road trip/beer consumption" comparison/factor. "Yeah mate, Townsville to Cairns would be a six pack drive".

ratter, here's a heads up just for general principle - (only because I love ya dude!).

All you other Aussies, and aforementioned Aussie derelicts, if you ever happen to come to Tucson PM me and you got a place to stay!
