From the numbers Ive seen on my own speedo 4000rpm @ 100kph, 8000rpm @ 200kph, theoretically the blade should do 300kph @ 12000rpm in sixth if you can get it to pull 12000rpm in top? (think the rev limiter is set at 12,200rpm) Maybe with a pcIII, full system (also on a cold day as close to sea level as possible) you will have the best chance of pull maximum rpm in top but the std blade definately doesnt have the berries to pull max rpm in top gear, so I wouldnt bother gearing your bike up unless you have some serious engine work done to it to allow it to even take advantage of the std gearing! Anyway hope you a sucessful in you quest to crack the big 300, something I would like to do myself oneday!

cheers guys....im just going to ride it now...ive done both the things i wanted to do..nearly clocked it and i just ran 10.9seconds on the 1/4mile at Calderpark drags...so im damn happy...now ill get good at the twistys and do some track days...maybe mid year when i have some more dosh ill get some mods and get it worked a bit..but im happy...im really bloody happy with my 10.9sec 1/4mile...its high 10's but its a bloody 10sec

I don't think the Blade is made for +300 speeds. To me, the Blade has other special quailites which +300 bikes don't have.

If you want to break the sound barrier go for an XX or the new ZX-12.

Just my opinion.

Well Bacc for the record it caused me to put a dent in my tank, and that's with a carbon fibre guard on it!

As of friday there were still spots available, normally you have to be a club member to particpate on the club's track days, but they said if they did not fill all the spots they would advertise in AMCN, so it would be no harm to ring and ask.

Me and my missus are presently building a new house, so I know how the money situation is, but is was easier to convince her that it was a good idea for me to do a track day, by getting her to do it as well, now I just hope the CBR250RR doesn't beat the CBR954RR

Don't worry about getting the PC3r unless you plan later on to change cams or compression etc, you will be paying for features you never use, not sure about the functions on the new usb power commander yet o
