Re: Velocity STacks

Well, I'm going for it.
I did a search on ebay for the VStacks but looks like there arn't any for auction anymore . So, I emailed Factory Pro for some info regarding ebay or if they ship internationally and got this,

The following recipient(s) could not be reached:

hal9000@factorypro.com on 10/3/2004 12:21 μμ
The message could not be delivered because the recipient's mailbox is full.
< factorypro.com #5.2.2 smtp; 552 5.2.2 Over quota>

Ok, factory pro is busy...
So, can anyone tell me, if they will be placed on ebay again or if they ship internationally

Thanks

Re: Velocity STacks

Sook - are you the doin' bikes guy?

Jungleboy - Probably will take it to Sydney Dyno for the back to back dyno runs. The trip wa sgreat!!! I should get my lazy butt into gear and post some pics

The Sook - sole reason for going to Sydney Dyno is he is VERY local (I'm in Coogee - he is a 2 minute ride away), if you are who I think you are, then you guys have a damn good rep too.

BTW - I already have my Arata - got it about 4 months ago (when a good deal presents itself...)

As I said in another thread, if you guys wanna see what the velocity stacks do, I'm happy to do the before/after dyno runs over there.

That'd be good. Mickey boy lives over your way, and he comes here. Like i said, I'll fit the system for you for nuthin' (coz I'm the distributor for them) and map it for you. Then we can do the stack test.

Was actually thinking of doing the stack test before the Arata, to see what it does for a stock bike. Factory pro claims a "2-3 real peak horse power" increase. Whatever that means, and they also claim there are no losses anywhere on the rev range. Something I'm wanting to see for myself. The the fact that one other member said it makes the engine sound better did tip me over the edge when it came to coughing up the $$$...

That's why you should have done the bike first then go overseas. That way, you wouldn't be hassled by everyone

You've probalbly just come down to my level

Sook: I will go to anyone who will look after me as Im not very financial at the moment and have save money where ever I can, thats why I just shop around for the best deal, if I could find someone who would always look after me (within reason) I would give them all my bussiness as well as recomend them to anyone who would ask, Also like Zeeman, Kensington is less than 5 minutes from my place as I live right in the city so its more conveinience than any other reason

Gimme one more week....

I did actually fit them to my bike on the weekend when I ripped out the flapper and the pair valve. I did notice an improvement in the sound the engine makes - particularly at high revs, sounds just a little more thraoty, which is way cool. Haven't really noticed much in the way of power, but I haven't really ridden my bike the way I did on the weekend since before I went overseas (about 2 months ago now). So, I don't think I'd notice anything under a 5hp increase with my but dyno anyway...

Jungleboy, we look after all our customers. We fit tyres to THE BIKE for nuthing (for fitting) and I have guys travel from Wagga, Canberra, Newcastle, blue mountains etc to have their bike done by us. (shameless plug: Glen Allerton won the Supersport rnd at the Island on the weekend. Bike mapped my moir haha)
We are the cheapest place around for servicing, and prices on most stuff for regular customers are cheaper than other shops "club" or "member" discount prices. ie: first service on 600RR or 954 etc, $140. 6k service $180-240approx etc. It's worth the ride.

I will keep you guys in mind next time I get some major work done, I recently had my 6K service done at BMS Alexandria for $140, this was a good price, although when you like to do most work yourself even this seems like too much considering the 6k service is basically a filter and oil change, visually inspect brake pads (5 sec) and check the tension of the major fasteners! (pity you need that little stamp in the service log to keep your waranty intact) I do understand you guys have to pay the bills and make a living, but things are pretty tight financially for me at the moment so I have to make the most of every dollar. Although some time down the track im considering getting a bit of headwork done (raising the compression, a little bit of port work and possibly some different cams) I will be removing and installing the head myself just need tha above done, so Ill be after a quote on that when the time come

Re: Velocity STacks

If they are good mechanics, they also remove levers and grease the pivot points, adjust and lube your chain, bleed the brakes, clean out your air filter, etc. There's more to it than just the oil and filter and a 5 sec check. But I know what you're saying, and I agree. Most guys charge HEAPS for nuthin'. To me , I wouldn't mind IF the work is done. BUT we often see guys come in after just having a MAJOR service done, and many things have not been done for a long time that should be.

Re: Velocity STacks

There was a post by somebody regarding Factory Pro and their "real h.p" claims etc. I suppose once we see the h.p gains from Jungles on the dynojet dyno, we'll know what they mean (ie: if they work or not). My understanding is that they will work. Race guys have used them, using different heights etc depending on what they need, (bottom end, top end etc). I raced with one guy that had them in at one meeting and I tell ya what, that bike was a missile. So they SHOULD work.
Jungles, as a guide, they should take about 1-2 hours to tune your bike (map it). More than that, and any more than $300 and you're getting ripped

Re: Velocity STacks

Just as a clarification, my vstack test will be on a stock bike, with the PCIIIR that is installed set to a 0 map. This is basically to see if the factory claims of "extra HP without any additional tuning" are true or not. Once I have that done, I can finally fit my freakin' Arata and get sook to map it
