| What is this, my Aussie friends? So, are any of you Aussies old enough (or willing to admit it) to know what this relic is? (Excluding ratter of course, we all know he is old enough). I brought this back to the US in '90. Which makes me wonder... why are there no Aussie representatives from the Northern Territory (Arnhem Land is beautiful! Maybe they have all gone Troppo!!), or Queensland, or Southern Australia, or Tasmania - well, we know why there aren't any members from Tasmania |

It's probably too hot up north for sports bike and there is no curves only lots of long straights and lots of dirt.
I think we had a/some QLD members at one stage, not sure about SA they have some good hills too ride in, as for tasmania, apparantly they have some of the best roads for motorcyling in the world, but it's gotta be hard for the two headed freaks to get helmets
Disclaimer:
The above two headed comment was issued in ther nameof comedy amusement, any ressemblence to anyone living is purley a Tasmanian |

| Re: What is this, my Aussie friends? spot on Ratter down in tassie are some Fantastic roads.
Log trucks are a problem though! when I was down there last time
on a cricket trip there was a riders group staying at the pup next to
us and you couldn't shut them up about it! I drove around Tassie
back in 89' with a mate and our missus then and the roads were
Awsome ! wish I had the bike back then.
Yes Bac that is a Darwin stubbie which holds 2ltrs or 1/2 a gallon!
They dont sell them anymore but then again they would go
flat and warm towards the end
Ratter is right thoug thy dont have many twists or turns up there and
its f*#king hot all the time
much better down here

| Re: What is this, my Aussie friends? I guess you Australia-ites didn't get the fact that my title post was a rhetorical question . When I was over there in '89-'90 a guy that I met in Darwin gave it to me as a going away present. I believe that the N.T. Brewery had just ceased manufacturing the beast (too bad). I also heard stories of some of you crazies skulling the damned things. Check this out, from the net...
<Darwin is a town full of top Australians. It is in the Northern Territory which is also a pretty tops place because it has a massive rock in the middle of it. The average temperature in Darwin is 65 C, with humidity usually around 190%. This creates an ideal climate for beer consumption. The Guinness Book of Records makes a special mention of Darwin because it is a place where beer consumption approaches super-human levels. The people of Darwin drink a massive 194.6 litres of beer per person annually, and that includes women and children. That is a shitload. In fact it is illegal in Darwin to drink less than a six-pack a day. Darwinnians drinks so much that they created their very own 2 litre bottle, called the Darwin Stubby. It is the biggest beer bottle in the universe. Skulling a Darwin Stubby is a necessary requirement for a Darwin High School Certificate.
Darwin is a top Aussie!>
And for those of you who mentioned a beer that size going flat before consuming it... you must have some fair dinkum weenie drinkers over there |
