Canadians are the nicest people

So I arrived in Canada (Toronto) yesterday only to discover that the hotel had released my room (this was actually a mess up by my secretary). I went to the conceige (sp?) desk to explain my situation. It appears there are a number of conventions and sport events in town and ALL of the rooms in the city are booked. Before I left the hotel I had 2 offers from separate people I had just met (Canadians working at the hotel) to 'crash' at their places. Having lived near Oakland for the last few years it was a pleasant reassurance that Canada hasn't changed much since I left. I love you people

Roomless in TO,
Symon

That sucks man. I'm away on business until Tuesday. Otherewise you could stay at my place.

P.s. The Molson Indy is on right now! No wonder you can't find a hotel.

Oh yes... and we get picked on in South Park 'cause we're funny as hell. I can't help it we've got our quirks. For instance, I was just at the beer store where a one legged man hopped out of the car (literally) and on one leg was hopping in to pick up his case!

hahaha... I figure let 'em go. They are free to establish their own country - just leave the land here!

Seriously though, I love Montreal. I have considered moving there 'cause the people and city is much nicer than Toronto. Although.... their winter SUCKS.

Yep, Montreal is one of my favorites, and this is coming from an Albertan! Isn't it fact that Montreal has the best looking females on the continent? Where else can you go and see so many beauties peddling around on bicycles? (Europe I guess)

I've never been to Toronto, but I can't imagine Montreal being better. When I was in Montreal, in the city, it had the feel of Russia (or at least, the way I perceive Russia to be). Dull. Drab. Old. Blah. Don't mind visting, but wouldn't want to live there.

Don't kid yourself South Park rips on everyone.

Yup, loads over here in places ! Holland has the most on push bikes, though for girlys, it has to be eastern europe, estoina and hungary. I've been all over the world and the high average is amazing there.

Not to bash our Canadian friends, but I spent a summer in Canada when I was like 12. It was my experience girls liked Californians, guys didn't.

My family also did a roadtrip through western Canada visiting family and vacationing around 1990, and my Dad (who briefly lived in Canada) will still tell you how bad he was treated in some places on the trip.

Most of my US mates who visit Europe now are getting a progressively harder time as well, over here is the global image and general behavior, not sure what it would of been in Canada.

A-------s are everywhere. My bet is you parents just had the bad luck of finding one. My experience is Canadians are great, almost as friendly as southerners

True, though some countries have lower averages of a-holes than others

True. But this was a consistent theme for more than 2 weeks.

The funny thing is, we didn't expect it there and got it.

I went to France late in 03 (I think it was ) anyways, I thought I'd be harassed all around Paris and I was treated better than here at home! Especially shocking since I don't know any French...
