| Approx Sept 6 temps? I am headed to Michigan over the US Labor Day Holiday and considered extending it to do a Great Lakes Iron Butt ride. But being from the south I am a warm weather critter and a bit concerned with temps. What kind of temps can I expect in Canada both highs and into the evening that time of year (Celsius is fine). Are we talking big time freezing
Thanks |

For instance I can tell you it will be 80's here and stay that hot until 5-6PM then fall pretty fast to 60's, the next morning will stay cool until about 9AM then climb fairly fast. That gives me a better idea of riding gear needed since my blood has thinned considerably in the Alabama heat |

| Re: Approx Sept 6 temps? Hey, I live in Windsor, and have done that ride, it is really nice, especially in northern ontario(watch out for the livestock) it should still be fairly warm(60-80) but expect cooler temps in the morning(mid-upper 50's) and a chance of rain is always possible that time of year. It is pretty much the same temp across until you get north of London(2 hours east) and even then it is only a few degrees different. When you get further north you may want your leathers for early morning stuff(especially if you are used to 95 degrees, I am so jealous) I really don't think that you will see frost but...don't quote me on that...hope that helps and enjoy the ride |

| Re: Approx Sept 6 temps? Just FYI: There are only 2 seasons around here regardless of what everyone else may tell you (including the weather channel).
They are Winter and Road construction, everything else is just wishful thinking . . . |

My brother is across the river from you out in Hartland and they have been whining about the cold this year. And trust me 95 can suck also, but oh those 80-5 days rule. Plus if you are ever down this way drop me a note and I can help you toward some great mountain riding in TN and Northern GA. Even Alabama has some nice hills. |

| Re: Approx Sept 6 temps? I can't say as I have ever had a problem with 95 but I guess that is just prefference...that is a long ride for just 3-4 days, a good ride but a long one. It has been very cool this year, it was only 55 this morning when I rode to work, but it warmed to 78 for the trip home at noon, made for a nice trip on the way back, as for the mountian riding I am VERY jealous...me and a friend have been to the gap 2 times this year, we find ourselves straying from it and finding other roads that are less popular and maybe not quite as busy. we were down on may 24 weekend(canadian long weekend) and it was great not too much traffic and decent temps and then we were down the week after the mid ohio race and camped in pigeon forge. I really wish that we could have a couple of roads as good as any of the ones in tennesse or north carolina, around here is is so flat and straight you can see the day after tomorrow...glad that I could help out, likewise if you are around theese parts drop me a line and I can show you some of our on/off ramps(don't laugh its the truth) |

| Re: Approx Sept 6 temps? Sweet link, thanks. I am not sure if it will happen but we were thinking of coming to the ama race in Atlanta later on this year(tentative at best) but that definatley looks like a good spot to stay. We had been talking about switching venues and finding some different roads because pigeon forge is a little busy, but you can't complain about 27 dollar a night hotels. Maybe next spring? Thanks again for the link |
