Attending any Ontario track days this summer?

Besides my yearly spring warm up at FAST in May, I plan on going to a couple track days put on by http://www.bethepimp.com/ . A fellow VFR rider led me to them, and I'll be meeting him at two of the dates they offer( August 22, and Sept 9 ) Anyone else? I'd also like to put some sticky(er) tires on just for the track days. Any reccomendations? Or will the stockers do?

Tim(got a deal worked out for the RR5.Just need to sell some things now. )

For Track Days up there do you have to bring tire chains?

Sesions are a little shorter cause the dogs can't pull that hard for very long.

Re: Attending any Ontario track days this summer?

Hey Tim

I've heard a few negative stories about those days . It may just be that he had some start up problems last year. I guess this year will tell for sure.
I've been happy with the Pro6 days at Shannonvile and Mosport. Team Promotion puts on a good weekend at Mosport and they are doing a Mt.Tremblant day this year as well.

Are you bring your RR to Fast?

Glenn

Re: Attending any Ontario track days this summer?

I went to a Pro6 track day last year. No really big problems I guess. Them losing my registration didn't impress me, but a swipe of my Visa took care of that. Lost most of the morning due to rain. Still went out and slid around though! Thought I'd give PIMP a try this year. I've been around Mosport, but in a stockcar. I think a bike would be a little more fun. Know of any motels to stay around there, besides driving out to Oshawa?

I hope to have the RR in early May(or sooner), and will probably ride it down for FAST. Will you be there Glenn, with your screamin green meanie?

Later,

Tim

Re: Attending any Ontario track days this summer?

I'm planning a trip to Fast Class at Shannonville this year with a couple of other instructors at the college. I just have to check to see if they have any Tent & Awning sized cow skins to fit me.

EDIT:

Also, I've never sat on a 600 before, so I'll probably look like the perverbial hound dog gaining carnal knowledge of a football while I'm on one of those things.

Like an orange on a toothpick?

I was behind ninierpilot on a hawk (I think ) at grattan last year.

I don't know if that bike just had a really loud can or if it was actually screaming.

Re: Attending any Ontario track days this summer?

Well, I think they have sizes into the mid 50's anyway. I'm 6', 195ish and wear a 48 with a little room to spare. You can bring your own gear if you have it. I always bring my own helmet, gloves and boots, 'cause they're broken in and fit good. Most of their stuff is usually new and I don't like breaking in new boots while I'm trying to learn something....

BTW, I'm using their SV650 again this year. Taller guys have told me it fits them better than the R6s and GSXRs. They're a blast to ride too.

Actually, I think it was my RC51 . . .

You know, a run to Grattan may actually be shorter for some of the Canadian members. I know about this little 3 day event they're having at the end of June . . .

Tim

I'm not going to Fast with the gang this year his year. I have a trip scheduled to the Gap with Brian and Rob.

How many other local guys have or will be signing up for Grattan?

I'm seriously thinking of attending.
