Most people in Toronto have never been to Calgary but they all have an opinion about it.
Come down here this summer... We'll take a tour in the mountains and I'm sure you'll not be in too much of a hurry to go back to hogtown.
BTW farmyard animals can be great companions for a lonely man. |

Come down here this summer... We'll take a tour in the mountains and I'm sure you'll not be in too much of a hurry to go back to hogtown. | I'm no fan of Toronto and have been fighting not to live here since I moved here. And Calgary is nice, especially if mountains and plains are your thing. However, I'm more of an ocean kinda guy so I'll take Vancouver or the east coast.
As for opinions about Calgary, many people in Toronto haven't been to Calgary and probably don't know where it is. The center of the universe is here and the world revolves around the CN Tower... afterall, that's why they put it there to mark the axis. ok, ok, it's ok for me to slag Toronto 'cause I live here. What's your excuse? Why don't you go rustle up some cattle or shine your belt buckle or something.
Do you board? |

I can slag Toronto because I worked there for 2 years, living in Barrie and commuting to Thornhill and Scarborough.
If there's something that you can bash Calgary for, it's that people here are generally, ahem, unrefined. But that's part of the appeal to me. Snobs here are few and far between.
Yes I board, and don't try to tell me that Blue Mountain is anything actually resembling a mountain, because I've ridden on that sad little toboggan hill too.
EDIT brb, my belt buckle's looking a little dusty

| Re: Oil on the road in the Gap hehe. Does the buckle have steer horns or a truck logo?
Never been to blue mountain and have only boarded twice. But figured if you board quite a bit then you'd be at COP all the time and might know a buddy of mine. It's a long shot but the boarding community is small. I think he was on the national boarding team for a while but not currently. *shrug*
I wouldn't slag Calgary. I liked it there. I don't think I could stand the winter's and the some of the city-cowboys were annoying (sorry, only cowboys can wear cowboy hats and ropers). Other than that, it was all good.
I didn't hear a denial of being an Oiler's fan... |

Or were you talking about some obscure sport nobody cares about anymore because they can't even agree amongst themselves to actually play the friggin' game? |

We're sorry that you don't have the attention span to follow our sport, and that we handed you your ass in the Olympics, but you don't have to be a sore loser about it.
On a serious note, the moronic NHL lockout has had some great side-effects here in Calgary, ie, increased popularity of junior hockey (which is more exciting to watch anyway) and the creation of many Lacrosse fans. |

I'm a redneck in my own way though.

You missed New Brunny and Manitoba... both are provinces that you pass through on the way to other provinces. Nova Scotia is good, PEI is cool, even though I'm "from away". Ontario is a good place to be too, save for Toronto. Hmmm... come to think of it, the only places I really don't like are Manitoba and New Brunswick. |

Barrie is a **** hole, I don't like living here at all, there is too much traffic and WAY too many old people. Almost everyone that lives around here are idiots(at least any of the ones that I have met)(or had to drive behind ) I can't wait to get the hell out of here.
ANYWERE BUT BARRIE.
I would live in calgary...nice place but I would rather live on the other side of the hill (and blue mountian sucks too too small and way too crowded) |
