| Shannonville Tragedy I am not sure how many of you on .org follow the RACE series at Shannonville, but Sunday afternoon Max Mercier was killed in the amateur superbike race. Max is the son of Michel Mercier who owns the FAST riding school and was racing a Yamaha R6 this year in the amateur 600 and superbike classes. All classes at the FAST riding school are closed until June 17th. |

| Re: Shannonville Tragedy He was trying to beat another bike into turn 1 at the end of the straightaway and he lost control under braking. He was at a high rate of speed and the bike flipped end for end. It happened so fast, I couldn't really see anything, just flying debris. |

Another rider was killed at a Mosport track day less then two weeks ago. This has been a really bad year already. |

| Re: Shannonville Tragedy damn this one hits close to home. I have known Michel for several years and he is one of the greatest people I have met in roadracing. Several of our former teammates (self included) have had the "pleasure" of getting smoked by this soft spoken gentleman.
Godspeed Max |

| Re: Shannonville Tragedy oh wow. Sad indeed. As soon as I read the name Max Mercier, I was wondering if there was any relation, apparently, there was. That's really sad.
F.A.S.T. is such a great program too, I also met his Dad through that school. |
