| Anyone who has ridden a Wing down the Baja Penninsula? I am a female Wing rider, the '94 is currently my ride of choice. I'm planning to ride from Las Vegas to Cabo San Lucus, Mexico in Feb 2007. I've heard some scary stories about the quality of the fuel available. Anyone having done this ride please repond. Do I really need to bring a fuel pump and filter along with me? I just hate road side repairs, they always seem to cause a broken nail right after a fresh manicure.
Anyone interested in joining up on this ride, I am starting from Edmonton Alberta and shipping three wings to Las Vegas. Always room for a few more! |

That aside, plumb a filter into the fuel line and carry a spare. I took a Honda Hawk 400 from yesteryear through Baja many moons ago, and the filter got me though just fine.
A scarier thought is a lone biker babe traveling through the wilds of Baja all by her lonesome. Do yourself a favor and get some company. |

| Re: Anyone who has ridden a Wing down the Baja Penninsula? As stated, we are so far three bikes leaving from Vegas. I wouldn't dream of riding the Baja myself! Although this summer I did log 3200 km from Edmonton up the Sunshine Coast by myself! It was a great ride, check out the Circle Route on the BC Ferries website at the following link BC Ferries: Mainland - Vancouver Island - Sunshine Coast Schedules. Anyone interested in spectacular scenery, curvy roads, and the best B and B's I've ever stayed at should check it out! |

| Re: Anyone who has ridden a Wing down the Baja Penninsula? I am a die hard Oilers fan since 1979. I fly the Oilers flag on my Wing when I travel and have met many nice people during my trips who are attracted to the bike with the flags flying. |

| Re: Anyone who has ridden a Wing down the Baja Penninsula? I've gone as far south as El Rosario on the west side, and Puertecitos on the east. If your staying on the Highway 1, as I assume you would on a wing, you wont have any problems. The Pemex gas stations are as modern as the USA or Canada now. The only hitch is between El Rosario and Guerrero Negro is a long strech (couple hundred miles) without fuel. The maps show fuel in Catavina and Punta Prieta, but its not always there. Somewhere along the way there will be a guy selling gas out of drums, don't pass him up! When I was down in Baja last year, I met up with a Canadian couple on a Goldwing who had ridden from down to Cabo and were on the way back up so it can be done easly. Have fun, don't speed, dont ride at night, and don't drink the water |

We are looking at staying a couple of nights in the San Ignacio Yurts, are they truly as incredible as they look on the web site? Ignacio Springs Bed and Breakfast - Gallery |

| Re: Anyone who has ridden a Wing down the Baja Penninsula? No problem. If you want to learn more about Baja and places to see/viset/stay, check out Adventure Rider Motorcycle Forum Were a bunch of Adventure riders who ride Baja regulary. Some of the info will be dirt bike oriented, but if you do a search I'm sure you will find some good leads. Off the top of my head, a few places not to mis is Rice & Beans in San Ignacio, the iron church in Santa Rosalia designed by Alexandre Gustav Eiffel (you've probaly heard of his Tower in Paris), The Old Mill in San Quintin, and if you dont mind the tourist trap, La Bufadora just south of Ensenada. Be sure to get a tourist visa since you are going south of Ensenada...there is an office in Ensenada, or at the western border crossing at Tijuana. About $20 US. |
