Places for cylinder head work in Ontario?
I doubt that I will get much of a responce here as we have a fairly small contingency of ontario based canucks here, but here goes.

I just picked up a spare head for the 1000RR and am looking at doing some "minor" improvements to it, depending on what it is worth to do them.

I want to start with milling it to increase comp. a little(I always run premium but I DON'T want to have to buy rocket fuel to get it moving.

Port and polish then a valve job to clean it up.

If time/money allow I will be looking to get my cams either degree'd or a new set of "slightly" more aggressive cams that I can continue to run on the road with "hopefully" a bunch of track riding as well.

Any one have any idea on who to suggest, I am in barrie, but it is not that far to drive/mail things to pretty much anywhere in the province.

Hopefully someone cal help me out? If I remember correctly abtech knew someone up here?

NEVER...

Money maybe, but not mods...

and Abtech thank you VERY much, for the info, I will look into that a bit more, sounds like an excellent choice. I just have to get it, and the money to get it done.

Any recommendations for what I should be looking at for cams? Just looking for slightly more aggressive than what I have now, I ride Mostly street, but I am hoping to track a bit this year too.

I remember you mentioned his name and I said I would try to stop in there and find him. I just read the newsletter of the Import Motorcycle Group which is based in Windsor and it says Extreme sports are open in the old Sports Afield building on Patillo Road. They sell Hyosung and KTM. I emailed Dean Valentino who is the publisher of this newsletter and asked him if he knew of Rick and whether he is still around the area. I have yet to hear back from him but I am going to drive over there or call this week and I will post what I find out.

I just gotta remember your maple to pay you back for that helmet bag

Like I said this is going to be a "side project" I really am going to try and focus on getting more riding in this year. Especially getting out on the track and "using" the bike like it should be

That would be GREAT if you could do that...Won't be hard for me to find as I used to live down there.

Yes, please keep me updated with whatever you find. I had heard Rick had made some changes, but never heard the outcome.

Well I drove down to Windsor today to hunt down this person that Abtech has been referring to and I found out he has a shop in Oldcastle. So I went to Oldcastle and found his shop and talked to his son Kris. I got a tour and wow they are building killer custom bikes!! Kris showed me the dyno room and we shot the **** for a bit. Rick wasn't there but I might go back Wednesday because I'm job hunting in that area anyways. Their last name is spelled Tomicic according to their cards and the shop name is Tough Customs Precision Cycles. Welcome To Tough Customs
I also talked with Ken Blonde at Walker Automotive Machine on my way back home. He's in Chatham and I worked for him 10 years ago when I was in college. He does headwork also but he doesn't have a flowbench which is needed I think to really do the best job. Rick or Kris would probably set you up better or know better anyways. Let me know if you want more info about Walker Machine.
I am lookin forward to going back to tough customs and talkin with Rick for sure.
By the way his shop is 2 mins off the 401 at the Walker Rd exit. Turn left on Walker and left on North Talbot and it's right on the left.
