BC Kootenay Riders?

Good morning all, just joined the site and thought I would post and see if there were any other Kootenay riders kicking around. I see a few people out there, but hard to do more then wave when I'm zipping down the road in the other direction.

If any one is up for a bit of a group ride around the Kootenay's let me know. I'm new to the whole scene and as much fun as it is riding by myself it would be nice to mix it up once in awhile. Anyways drop me a line.

-MM

Re: BC Kootenay Riders?

While not currently in the Kootenay's, my folks live on the lake at 16 mile (Balfour) - GREAT riding and one of the most beautiful places ever.

I have made the trip a few times on both 929RR and Duc - and sadly far too many times in a cage. Osoyoos to Christinal Lake and up over to Castlegar has got to be one of the best 'let 'er rip' rides in the Northwest (CAN or US).

I plan on heading up in July - I will look for your posts and hopefully a 3a or Arrow Lakes trip can be managed, eh?

Sounds like a great plan. I just did a great ride with some guys from work, from Castlegar up and over to Creston and then back along Arrow lakes and that was an excellent ride. The ferry ride was also a great little break. Only problem is that everyone I work with are all cruiser guys so I stick out like a sore thumb when I ride with them It'd be nice to ride with someone whom at least has sport bike, even if mine would have trouble keeping up with yours

Anyways I'm sure I'll keep in touch as we get closer to July. Keep it rubber side down

Re: BC Kootenay Riders?

I`m heading down to Nelson with the family in August and was thinking of throwing the bike on the trailer. If you could suggest some good routes, that would be cool.

Hi Mgmussio
A big hello from another Kootenay rider. I may have seen you a couple times last year although I thought it was a 919. I ride a 05 repsol cbr1000rr. Let me know if you are still around. Good luck with your 599.

Re: BC Kootenay Riders?

Hi Thatedge. Nice to see another Kootenay rider. I am always up for a morning rip once all this snow is gone. Did you get your bike? Did you have your mishap on the 600rr at Midway? At least you are back on a bike. I've had my fun out Pass Creek, elk hunting with a 929. Hopefully I learned a bit from that experience. And the few other experiences through the years. But good to see another Kootenay guy here.

Re: BC Kootenay Riders?

Pmatch,

Good to hear from you. The VFR came in and I put it to bed for the rest of the winter. I was run off the road by a 4 wheeler a couple of K's off the ferry in Victoria. Thank god for good leathers, helmet, gloves and boots. I learned quite a bit from that one. We definately have to go out for a ride sometime. I've been wanting to do the Slocan/Nelson run for years and now I can't wait. I figure there's about 40 more days before riding!
