| Pre Thomas Edison days... Well, I knew this would happen eventually. I normally escape all the major power outages until Friday 5:30pm. Storm came through and took out several trees which ripped one of the utility lines down. Stayed over at a family's place Friday night, roughed it out at my place last night and probably going to stay there again tonight. I came into work just to get a pot of coffee. This blows. Talk about a crappy weekend.
Haven't seen anyone from Ohio Edison or their subcontracted Davey Tree service. No one! I can drive down the street and everyone has power except for us. Rumor has it that power won't be returned until Monday or Tuesday.
Oh well, at least the house is in one piece. Guess I'll be headed back now and set up tonight's candles. I may even use some of those spare spark plug tops. I picked a bad week to quit crack.
Edit: I'm out of here, going home. Enjoy your electric everyone
Note to self, check on generators when house is 100% electric.

Well, that just bites the big one now doesn't it!? I don't live too far from Ravenna and the storms hit us pretty good too. I've got this old ford F-150 on blocks in my front yard that was smashed under a tree that fell. Not much of a loss though. And now the roof of my trailer is leaking too. Right on my bed. I guess thats life. |

| Re: Pre Thomas Edison days... Well, Ohio Edison showed up around 9:30pm Sunday. Although we were all glad to see them, they basically just popped the fuse back in. No complaints, they had problems all over the area. Man, it's nice to have electric again.
NoName, I WISH a tree would have hit my truck. |

| Re: Pre Thomas Edison days... Bummer dude. I have a generator but at home, all I really care about is my refrigerator, so I've never fired it up.
At work if my power went out I'd have a problem...my fishtank would asfyxiate. |

| Re: Pre Thomas Edison days... I don't usually care if the power goes out 'cause I just switch into "camping mode". Fire up the propane stove or BBQ, cook up whatever is gonna spoil and chow down... I guess I'd have problems now since I moved onto the 18th floor... the elevator and possible water situations would definitely be an issue.
If worse comes to worse I could go elsewhere. |

They make battery powered air pumps, just toss it in with an airstone and you're OK. The issue is, I have to be around when it happens to fix it. |
